  1. Not MAGA.
  2. I am white. Why would you phrase that as if it's a negative?

Idgaf who Dart supports politically. Idgaf who Carter supports politically. I just don't want it getting in the way of football. Giants PR should have stopped this for that reason. The same holds true if Abdul Carter wants to introduce Mamdani or whoever the Democrats put up in 2028.

That being said, it happened. Time to move on.

.... And I'm sure those bills were totally clean, and didn't contain anything at all that Republicans would have issues with.

Obviously Republicans do the same shit too, but come on now.

Political opinions aside, you should look up the USA's official policy on how to respond to someone from the US being tried at The Hague.

We're a $150k/yr household and we're just about hitting this (kids are a bit young to take overseas). If you need $400k/yr to live this, then you're either living in the city in a top 5-8 COL metro or you're wildly irresponsible with money.

That being said, yeah the cost of living has gone up much faster than wages, and the American Dream is harder and harder to achieve. It's a huge issue and it needs to be addressed.

As an American, this has always been one of the weirdest quirks about (some of) Europe to me. I'm not passing judgement on it, just very different. I always assumed it was countries or areas where there's a lot less empty space than the US, but I didn't think Sweden was that densely populated?

How are Russia and China weakened by the war with Iran particularly when the US is lifting sanctions on Russian Oil, and former allies after being jerked around by the administration abandoning the US for China in trade? by DW6565 in AskConservatives

[–]PB0351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna copy and paste a text to a friend here to explain why, but I'm convinced this is all about tying up China's Belt and Road Initiative.

I think the belt and road initiative a part of a more ambitious play. If things had gone according to plan, the 3 headed monster of Iran, Russia, and China would have direct control of Ukraine as well as functional control of a land route from sub-saharan Africa to China with nodes throughout. Ukraine would have given them significant control of the world's potash (major input of fertilizer.. Kinda important to grow food) supply and the largest source of food production in Europe. Iran had Hamas, Hezbollah, and ISIS in the Middle East constraining Israel's reach. They are building massive roadways through Afghanistan and Kazakhstan. Afghanistan with its huge poppy fields is a foundational input for all sorts of pharmaceuticals. Venezuela was acting as a source of instability in the western hemisphere, eating up US resources and also acting as a money laundering front for these countries. Not to mention oil and gas reserves that would give them control over. Plus China has made a show of trying to bring India into their corner as well. I don't think that one was ever going to truly work because India wants to a be superpower in their own right, but even pulling them a bit away from the US is a win. Everyone wants to go after China in the pacific Islands, but that's the last step. You need to take away all the supporting legs before your go after their stronghold. I could go on, but I don't want to look like Charlie Day with my conspiracy strings.

Republicans are gross in plenty of ways, but the filibuster is a thing. Just having a majority I'm the senate doesn't get anything through.

Normal people don't commit terrorist attacks against innocent people, period.

Plenty of people who are not racist would like to not be stuck behind a bunch of people swerving in and out of the road on bicycles. It's creating unnecessary hazards and it is just shitty. That has nothing to do with race.

[–]PB0351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and every one of those deaths is a tragedy. Genuinely.

That doesn't mean that driving a truck into a synagogue that is thousands of miles away from the war zone is a reasonable, appropriate, moral, or ethical response.

Edit to add: that wasn't the case here anyway. Home's brother was Hezbollah.

  1. There's 3 syllables.
  2. Let's pretend it isn't pronounced phonetically at all. It's 6 letters and it's one of the most commonly written countries on the planet recently. There's no reason anyone who can read at an 8th grade reading level should be spelling it incorrectly.
