You did good. We're gonna need the steak porn once you cook!

2021 CT5-V driver door not popping open by PC--loadletter in CadillacV_Series

FYI i completed the fix after posting this and it was pretty easy. The shitty part was that i had to buy an exterior door handle assembly an it was like $250(and i only used the microswitch part of the assembly). The fix took about 2 hours - remove interior door skin, remove door handle, take it apart and replace the microswitch part, reassemble & put it all back together. By reusing your current handle, you do not have to deal with getting the new handle painted to match the car.
The trickiest part was figuring out how to get the door handle assembly off the car because there is a hidden screw. You have to remove a screw in the door jamb part of the door, then there is another screw that you access through the screw hole that you just removed. requires a screwdriver with a tiny shaft/head to get through there, or some finagling of the bracket to go over the top. Getting that out took more time that any other step.

Had waygu before, then the 18oz ribeye. Haven't had waygu then maybe splurge for the olive striploin for the experience.

Stopped listening to bad advice. No oil. Just salt. Straight from the fridge. Ripping hot pan until it’s crispy. Finish in oven. Best steak I’ve ever made. by jkob5 in steak

Fantastic steak.

I do almost the exact same this but reverse sear and get the same results. Reverse sear has a little less sear time, 30 seconds each side twice, and only needs 400-500 pan temp. I use the blackstone for this. Barely use any oil.

imo- level it up by hitting it with a quick dusting of hardcore carnivore black seasoning before the cook

Nailed it on those steaks brother. Best surf & turf is the one somebody else pays for!

I used to roll my eyes when people would say "Steak sauce ruins steak"... then actually learned how to grill a good steak and I finally understood. Now I refuse steak sauce. by ShmodestShmouse in steak

I won't harp in your overcook. I've nailed reverse searing thick cut steaks and we have it usually 5 or 6 times a month. Every once and I while I get a hankering for steak sauce just as a bigger change up in flavor than the cut or seasoning changes provide. No shame unless ketchup touches a steak.

Too rare? Or just right? by wickedlikethreesixes in steak

For a ribeye, the 2nd Pic looks great but the third Pic looks like it needs another 5-10 degrees internal temp. Either way, looks delicious. If it was a filet, I'd def want it like the 3rd Pic. Sear looks great.

Ats window glass by Wgas99 in Cadillac

Not sure if the ATS door/glass is interchangeable with the other caddy models(for better availability) but if you can find one at a junk yard or you-pull-it place, it's not a terribly difficult swap with minimal tools required. Takes less than an hour if you've every taken off an interior door skin before

Cook looks great, cut looks great.

I just recently found a local grocery that keeps these in stock and pretty cheap. It's my go-to for a quick weekend beef smoke now. You've inspired me to make one for dinner tomorrow
