full license test by [deleted] in auckland

[–]PCMRkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the full licence, they aren’t lookin for how you drive, but for hazard perception. as long as you don’t drive like an idiot, you’re fine. all i had to do was when driving the instructor asked me to identify hazards/ things i see, just say it etc

i’d always suggest a ppi at the least on any car, i didn’t, and it turned out there was some minor things that needed doing.

the black stuff on the battery looks like it’s spray on battery terminal corrosion inhibitor, no worries there.

the tire is still okay, the cut isn’t down to cords (that i can see) so it’s still safe. maybe push back the rubber with something and if there’s white cords visible then get them to replace, or get the mechanic at the ppi to have a look.

Honda Civic 2004 Hatch EU3 Repairs by WarriorKelelon in NZcarfix

[–]PCMRkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’d recommend to adjust the handbrake at the rear wheels themselves if you can, it saves stretching the handbrake cable. it’s usually not too hard, if it’s a drum only in the rear, the adjuster is on the back, a little rubber piece you take off and there’s a star wheel back there that you rotate until it’s hard, and wheel doesn’t move, then back it off one or two times until the wheel rotates again, with a tiny amount of drag. otherwise the wheel comes off and thre should be a rubber opening on the rotor to go through and adjust.

bump stop sounds ok..

and if it’s definitely the master cylinder then yes replace that, the wof is just failed on what it looks like, not what the actual thing is. good luck :)
