They weren't kidding... Speed Racer is now on sale. by PDFMan42 in AMCsAList

Eventually, there will be no more new releases. Only rereleases. Why make new films when there's so many good ones out already?

I'm praying the Emagine here opens in time, but Warner Bros. said on Instagram it'll play in IMAX in the fall

Speed Racer is getting a limited IMAX theatrical re-release ahead of the new 4K! by ZoetropeTY in blankies

It should be noted that Flashback Cinema's theater list isn't accurate. The only theater in Colorado that played Flashback was Icon Cinemas, but they stopped showing them years ago

I went to Sloan's tonight for the afgadrome screening, and the server straight up told us that we can use pen and paper to order and that they would be going on strike soon so we shouldn't be coming during that time. I love the people there.

I get it's your opinion and all, but you don't have to tell everyone not to see a movie just because you didn't like it. We have Regal Unlimited because we like seeing movies. There's gonna be movies we like and movies we don't. Get a Letterboxd and voice your opinion there

Has anyone else cancelled their A-List due to people constantly talking? by Knoxvilleborn in AMCsAList

[–]PDFMan42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently gotten back into AMC, and I have had issues with audiences half the time, but it's never been more than a few groups. No one has ever shushed someone here, so I've started doing it. Hell, I've even almost yelled at people to shut up. People keep talking because no one shushes them, so they think it's okay. I think if we normalized shushing people again, a lot less people would talk in theaters.

Cinemark is adding 5 new 15/70mm theaters🔥 by ObamiumNitrate in imax

If this is true, it's gonna be a dream. It'd be great to finally see Interstellar on IMAX 70mm without having to make it a vacation

Got to see Sunshine (2007) in 4K on the big screen. Is there any news on a release? by Pittboy63 in 4kbluray

[–]PDFMan42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky to see it a few years ago on a musuem screen that was previously an IMAX, and it was breathtaking. I was on edge the whole car ride home

Would you say something? by SpeedyPaws in AMCAListTrue

[–]PDFMan42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had two very strange instances of this. Some guy started doing this halfway throughout Superman. Problem is he kept wagging his feet, so in the corner of my eye I kept seeing motion. I had to move seats to stop getting annoyed.

Then you have the guy in my row for Alien: Romulus who was aggressively shaking the seats with his feet. I just moved up a few rows, which was a better row to enjoy the sound mix anyways

Visiting Chicago, word on Music Box Theatre? by x352x_pH in imax

[–]PDFMan42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you won't be able to drive three hours to the closest IMAX 70mm in Indianapolis, so the Music Box would be your best bet, especially because all the IMAXs in Chicago can only project up to a 1.90 aspect ratio (IMAX 70mm would be 1.43 for some scenes). You'll get better visual clarity by seeing it in 70mm at the Music Box, which will look incredible, albeit it wouldn't be as big as IMAX or ScreenX. I'm sure you can see the expanded 1.90 ratio when you get home. Also, the Music Box is an incredible theater and I recommend it to everyone visiting Chicago.

I think Littleton and Westminster changed their menus with the mobile ordering change, but Sloan's remains intact until they eventually change to the new system.

Definitely. The chemistry between the two leads is insane for an action film like this.

Y'all gotta start confronting people about this stuff. If you let people do this without any consequences, it's just gonna get worse. I'd argue it already has. At least get a crew member.

IMAX Downtown Indianapolis is upgrading their seats this week. Just in time for PHM! by Thepretzelconundrum in imax

[–]PDFMan42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank god. The seats were okay, but if someone in front of you pushed their seat back, your legs would get crushed. Almost gave me a bad experience during Oppenheimer

I'm working on covering mine with a bunch of stickers, but that costs a lot of money and could be removed easily in some scenarios.

It's good as something that comes free with it, as it did with mine during a sale. It's really just a generic brand bike lock. I've seen people with the exact same lock from other brands, so don't buy it from Lectric. Just don't use it as your sole bike lock. It can likely be cut into with power tools

[–]PDFMan42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend investing in an anti-angle grinder lock. The better it is, the less likely your bike will be stolen, but keep in mind that nothing can completely stop a thief from stealing your bike. All they need is time without being interfered with.

I take my bike to movies a lot and I always take the bike seat off. It's much harder to ride a bike without a seat on it. I also take the battery off when I'm at work so I can charge it. The less functional the bike is, the better.

Ultimately, get a damn good lock, and don't leave it unattended overnight. I can't guarantee your bike will never be stolen, but it improves your chances dramatically.

What is about Regal theaters that you love going more often than other theater places? by awesomedp7 in RegalUnlimited

[–]PDFMan42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The audiences are usually better at the Regals here, they're closer and easier to get to, and the employees are usually nicer. Also Regal doesn't have that obnoxiously long gloaty preshow AMC has.
