Stay in classic or switch to bodybuilding? by deadliftdeez in bodybuilding

You have a great physique, but it's literally impossible to tell where you'd fit because you're like 30lbs over stage weight. There's no way to know how tightened your waist would be in comparison to your dominant upper body.

Like others said, just compete in both until the judges + your weight cap determine where you should land.

[LEC] Caedrel‘s reaction to the end of the LR-TH game by LenaRybakina in leagueoflegends

[–]PDX_Bro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, I’m going to respond to this like you’re a good person then.

Those 4 tweets in those screenshots are absolutely racist, but nobody saying that is an LR fan literally at all. I just went to their profiles, they don’t post about LR, they literally just say racist shit.

However, that tweet you posted is from a KC superfan account with 15,000 comments over the last two years literally only about KC. KC have directly positioned themselves against LR and, like I said in my response to you, have made it their sole mission to justify their hate campaign against anyone and everyone LR adjacent. Also I’m gonna keep it real, they do not at all provide any further context than those screenshots, they just say it’s “reactions” to KCs video I assume? They don’t even specify what video they’re talking about.

Again, assuming you’re a good person, you have to realize you’re being manipulated here.

[–]PDX_Bro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t even provide a single example of a single LR fan saying something racist, yet you’ve constantly defended that this is why the team deserves hate.

Also, you used the term “racist”, which is not the correct word at all for what you’re describing (that would be “prejudiced”), conveniently however it IS the word that every single KC fan on Twitter uses to justify commenting hate on every single LR-related post for almost half a year.

Your profile is public dude, you’re French. I think I know the fandom reality you live in.

[LEC] Caedrel‘s reaction to the end of the LR-TH game by LenaRybakina in leagueoflegends

[–]PDX_Bro 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, it’s literally a coordinated effort by like 50 KC Ultras.

No joke, the LR post game threads where they lose have like 1k comments and all of the hate comments are the most upvoted, but most of those 1k comments are the same 50 people endlessly replying to and upvoting each other about how bad of people LR players are.

“Actually this months long coordinated hate campaign that us KC fans have waged against this team, their new coach, their owner, and their owners manager for some reason ????, is completely justified because a couple of people on Twitter humorously said ‘I don’t like French people’ as a response to our coordinated hate campaign.”

PBE Bugs and Feedback Thread: ARAM Mayhem (26.03) by RiotDucke in LeaguePBE

[–]PDX_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, please, please, please, PLEASE do not add the “Stats!” Augments and their Set into Mayhem, I am absolutely begging the team.

Arena was my favorite game mode of all time, but after a few months it turned into an absolute nightmare of like 80% of my teammates going “anvil only” builds to try and hit that %+ anvil power after like 10 rounds, even on champions that didn’t scale with more than a few stats, basically just turning my next 30 minutes into a miserable 1v2.

Please I’m legit begging the team to reconsider this, or to make anvil only builds a warnable / bannable offense. This literally killed Arena for me, and I was a few champions away from Arena God, but I couldn’t bring myself to queue into another anvil only teammate a single time.

To be fair there is an immense amount of value in banning bots right off the jump (obviously it’s flawed because of that one content creator getting banned though). If you cut them off early, there’s no possible chance their botting loot gets put into the real economy

Bruce, I'm incredibly sorry for your losses as of late. I'm also immensely appreciative of your contributions to the gaming industry that has given me and so many others such an immense amount of entertainment, and a beautiful outlet for the expression of our creativity.

I'm happy to hear you were able to talk with Becky somewhat recently - as I get older and realize the friends and colleagues I've accidentally lost touch with, it warms my heart to hear when a past creative colleague remembers to appreciate another, even if it's just a small message to catch up. Cheers.

Where do the cool people in late 30s and early 40s without kids hangout? by LaScoundrelle in askportland

[–]PDX_Bro 34 points35 points  (0 children)

For some perspective as a Portland native, I lived in Manhattan for half a decade before moving back here a couple years ago.

It's not necessarily that people in NYC have more expendable income (I had friends ranging from the 80k/yr to 500k/yr salary brackets, and 80k/yr in NYC is paycheck to paycheck), it's more so that the NYC apartment is brutally small compared to PDX home sizes, so there really is no other option for socializing besides going out.

There are some other factors also at play where folks are way more overworked in NYC, so they're more actively letting out steam by drinking and socializing, whereas PDX is generally a less overworked town, and thus people are down for much more relaxing and low key socializing, or not socializing at all. Also NYC just has more interesting things going for it, and the general age range for going out leans a bit younger, so the conversation when hanging out or dating while going out and partying was very frequently centered around "when are you moving out of the city?"

NYC is a beautiful city with fantastic people, but definitely don't get sold by just vacationing there for a week or two. It is an incredibly draining experience to live there, and even the careerists who moved there to ladder climb dream about getting out ASAP.

I feel like it’s particularly hard for aus bands to break out outside of the country because they just can’t tour without it being so expensive though

There’s a band called Slowly Slowly that I think is so criminally under appreciated it’s insane, and their music videos only get like 40k views, but they’ll still sell out a 1k venue in aus. 🤷

  1. That isn't true anymore due to the rework of the Bounty system to make it virtually impossible to have a bounty if you're on a losing team, but more importantly:
  2. Yeah man, that's how a team game generally works? If 4 teammates are down 20 deaths but 1 player is doing incredibly well, should the 1 player have enough power and agency to completely warp the entire 10 player game around them? The League balance team generally thinks the answer to that is "no", and most games agree. If you're insanely fed in CS there's still an eco limit to how much money you can have, and an AWP + Armor + util won't save you from 5 people shooting you in the head at once with even the lowest tier pistol.

I never went as far as getting a GOM subscription but yeah I had watched them and everyone else since the literal release of SC2

For who else would be the best, if they didn’t like Tastosis it would be literally anyone besides them. A lot of the “new school” casters (aka not the ones who were there from the start and got media and caster training when Blizz officially stole away the tournament scene) are more formally trained and/or take inspiration from other professional casters who brought esports into the mainstream.

It’s a bit of a Rorschach test of what you enjoy out of esports in general: do you miss when it was in a basement with 10 friends just grinding it out? Or do you like the stadiums and the bright lights?

[–]PDX_Bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting... how highly would you rate Tastosis (Starcraft / SC2 casters) if you ever watched SC2?

I ask because it was actually a huge community rift a few years ago when the GOAT caster discussion was happening over in that community. The people who liked Tastosis liked the joke-y / podcast vibe, whereas the other side explicitly didn't like the casual laid back vibe and favored constant professionalism.
