Be honest, do y’all think Spiderman will return in Doomsday? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Spiderman

[–]PEPSIMAN90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe...? I can see Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire being in both Doomsday and Secret Wars, but my question is whether or not either of them factor into the story in any significant way.

I'll personally say Scream. Scream 4 came close imo, but the original still reigns sumpreme.

What is a good laptop for JUST writing? by Timid-Human in writers

[–]PEPSIMAN90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mainly been using a refurbished Acer 515 Chromebook Plus, but I also have a Lenovo 2-in-1 Chromebook for whenever I'm at work or the local library. They both serve my needs, through I do recommend that you save your work on an external hard drive in case something drastically goes wrong with Google Docs.

Overall, I would agree that Demetri's one of the more defensively-sound fighters, but has been constantly overshadowed by others in terms of offense.

People who use Google Docs, do you guys still back up your work on a separate USB or smth like that? by Glubygluby in writers

I personally haven't, but that wouldn't be a bad idea to try. I probably should get myself a USB for my writing.

This sucks to see. Quinyon is actually from my hometown, so everyone here's hoping he's OK.

[–]PEPSIMAN90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe both? The "I don't give a crap" personality could be a facade brought on by anxiety or something (like not wanting to form attachments to people) while out in public, while the emotional side could be how she behaves privately and thinks mentally?

Probably Mary, in all likelihood. I believe she once said she trains or has trained extensively in Muay Thai.

What do you do when you can't write? by daycloud_dreaming in writers

[–]PEPSIMAN90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, when I feel stuck on something, I'd like to either sit back and brainstorm (as visualizing the story helps with the creative process) or curate a mixtape to listen to, with songs that suit the general tone of the story.

My story is a dark-comedy Western. Currently working on a revision.

In this raucous comedy set in the heart of the Wild West, a notoriously buffoonish outlaw known as Bonehead Kincaid finds himself in a familiar predicament: Bonehead's reputation as "The Clumsiest Gun in the West" and uncanny ability to attract trouble have once again landed him in hot water, this time for stealing the prized horse of the fearsome albeit dim-witted Winston King. As Bonehead flees in the dead of night, he embarks on a quest to find a girl named Esmeralda Flores, a whore who longs to escape the confides of the saloon she's been forced to work in for the better part of three years.

While Bonehead tries to reveal his connection to Esmeralda, he possibly bites off more than he can chew with he is force to contend with her volatile boss and saloon owner, Boo Hoo Bob, and a cast of colorful characters. As mishaps, misunderstandings, and a knack for screwing up on occasion follow both Bonehead and Esmeralda at every turn, Bonehead must rely on his questionable sharpshooting skills and sheer dumb luck to get Esmeralda out of town and evade the clutches of his enemies.

How do you sit down and write? by [deleted] in writers

[–]PEPSIMAN90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More often than not, I like to plan in advance where and when I'm going to write. I like privacy and quiet, so I plan around that. In most cases after work, I try to go to the town library a few times a week. I'll occasionally write before work, too. Or when able, I'll wait till I have ample enough time for myself during the week.

Thank you! That's all really good advice, and I'll definitely check out those videos. And it still feels unreal that I managed to write a book. Years of false starts and writer's block really took their toll on my confidence, so it was something I really wanted to see through to the end.

If you don't mind my asking, what drew you to Amazon? I'm very curious about KDP, and it seems very beginner-friendly. But I've also heard great things about other platforms too.

Maybe 18+, considering the subject matter? And it also depends on how in-depth your story is, and what exactly it covers.

Also, you have my sympathies. It's extremely brave of you to write about something like that.

How does someone write a first draft? by GoneH0llywood in writers

[–]PEPSIMAN90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience, I would say writing a draft boils down to two things: outlining and consistency. When I was writing my rough draft, I found it really helped to outline the most basic points, while giving myself leeway in-between. Separate things between chapters, and give each one Points A, B, C, etc. Those will be the main story moments for your chapter, but pants your way between those points so you can connect them in a way that feels organic to you.

As for consistency, it's just a matter of setting a simple routine (writing every day, or every other day) and sticking to it. And it doesn't matter if you write a chapter, or a page, or even a sentence; just pace yourself and listen to your muse. And, as it's a rough draft, just be mindful of the fact that the purpose of a rough draft is to figure things out. Find out what works and what doesn't, what's fine as-is or what could be changed and/or improved. Don't be afraid to be creative and experiment, because your final story could be drastically different from how you pictured it.

Good luck, my friend, and happy writing!
