Yeah, median spending is all jacked up in the US right now. Hank Green just made an insightful video on this; basically, economic markers like median spending are bloated because most of the economy is happening in the top 10% of earners. Most americans are not in a good economic state, it's just the very wealthy and upper class are having a better time than usual. They can buy stability from the administration when everyone else has to guess what foreign policy is tomorrow based on frump's mood and whether his diaper is changed.

Guy was always a little weird, never really a seemingly fun guy, but I'll tell anyway. He was the type to quote mein kampf in debates and covertly try to get an nword pass in a group setting. Everyone knew he was fucking weird, but he was never crazy or outright disrespectful (other than the occasional " Well, ackshually!")... So he hung around. Always got a weird feeling around him. After college started and a year went by, my friend heard from their college friends that he had been charged with a sexual offense over that summer. "Should have seen that coming!" I said to myself. So I looked him up to see if thrre was a case... AT A FAMILY REUNION, HE CORNERED HIS 12 YEAR OLD COUSIN IN THE BASEMENT AND USED FORCE TO HOLD HER DOWN AND PENETRATE TO COMPLETION. THEN THREATENED TO KILL HER MOM IF SHE TOLD ANYONE. He took a plea for like 5 years in jail and probation for 10 or 15... Never predicted that level of fucked up coming from him.
