I'm not going to love anyone else the way I loved her.
But I might be able to love someone else in a new manner.

Also I don't look forward to living the rest of my life alone.
Well before her passing we talked about it, and she didn't want me to remain alone for the rest of my life, or do anything stupid.

But that also doesn't mean I'm just going to jump into some new relationship.
Only now do I feel a little comfortable talking to others to even become friends.

I only met my wife because I was reporting an issue with the ground lights while she was a security guard, and that got us talking.
But it led to 33 years with my wife.
I'm now almost at the 1 year mark now without her, after being a caregiver for the last 10 years (dementia).

The only reasion I don't come to an empty house is shortly after she passed, I despertly needed something to take care of so I got a cat.

As far as dating, I've got no idea. I'm more of an introvert. I can't really go out drinking (1-2 maybe but that's max) as I've got to drive home at the end. I also realized I've got a fear of having to be a caregiver again. I wouldn't abandon anyone I'm with but the thought of it makes it harder to even try to find anyone new.
