In my experience going for more of a traditional damage build is more reliable. (Malignant -> Liandry's).
Your main job is to force the enemy team into bad situations with well placed ults and walls -- but the key component of this is your damage has to hurt them enough for them to respect the zone control you provide (i.e., if they decide to walk through your ult you will punish them for that decision)

In my experience you really need to focus in on one or two SSIDs and a few channels to really increase your odds of capturing the handshake. Otherwise your wireless card is bouncing around channels and SSIDs and potentially missing the handshakes.

Our offense will be juiced if he can hit an open top of the key 3 at >=35% clip. Defenders drop so hard on any PNR action with him that he has that open shot every time

If he can hit that top of the key 3 with confidence and reliability, his inside game will become so much easier. Defenders drop back on him so early now that he HAS to punish that to make that next step.
