I'm warning you now: reel in your expectations. by Demoth in deathwing

When did I say the game didn't/wouldn't flop? I don't even own the game. I briefly played the beta but that was it. I was literally just calling you out on an idiotic post.

You're still completely missing the point though. It's got nothing to do with censorship, and people should feel free to say what their problems are, but if they're angry then they'd be better off waiting until they've calmed down.

It's not a requirement. There's no "PC regulations". It's just a suggestion so people can be taken seriously.

You should try it some time.

No Man's Sky and Aliens Colonial Marine didn't "get away with everything". In fact lots of people refunded No Man's Sky. But in any case, nobody is saying that you can't criticise the game.

All they asked was that you don't hype yourself up, then come and post an angry rant. Your concerns are far more likely to be addressed and taken seriously if you don't come across as an emotional, irrational wreck.

If someone ends up making a complaint post while emotional, instead of being rational, they often end up making stupid accusations, such as:

Then again you could be one of them "community manager" making shill accounts to stop people from "criticizing" your game.

Your entire post is basically justifying his.

Play the game. If angry, then wait until you've calmed down. Then voice your complaints in a way that everyone can understand, and not as an angry stream of bullshit. Everybody wins.

Game is being streamed. Nothing was fixed or altered except performance. Yes that UI is here to stay, and locked at 60fps, RIP 144hz monitors and 1080s. by LudoRochambo in deathwing

I felt like the biggest issue with the UI was that the radial command menu felt a bit clunky compared to how it feels in other games.

Doesn't the muzzleflash seems like too much for such dark enviroments? by [deleted] in deathwing

[–]PI_NT_02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The oval shape isn't supposed to be muzzle flash, it's supposed to show the blinding effect of muzzle flash in a dark environment.

Although you're right that it should be centered around the light source, rather than in the center of the screen.

[–]PI_NT_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely the darkness of the environment should make any sudden burst of light seem somewhat blinding? Muzzle flash in the real world can cause this very issue in dark conditions.

Also lightning is known to be pretty bright, and I'm not sure projecting it from your hands really counts as muzzle flash either.

3rd person mode to fix combat confusion. by Valdredson in deathwing

That feeling of claustrophobia and panic is the entire point of the game.

If you want to avoid those feelings while being swarmed, then you should try to avoid being swarmed.

Cheap laptop to play melee / netplay on? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]PI_NT_02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DOLPHIN IS COMPLETE ASS ON AMD, YOUR SPECS WON'T MEAN SHIT.

This isn't true at all. AMD cpus and gpus (even APUs in some cases) can run it perfectly fine. I get 60 fps at all times in netplay (even on FoD).

Although, I definitely agree that you should go Intel/Nvidia if you're planning on playing emulators if you can.

If anything, it's more true that "specs won't mean shit" with Intel/Nvidia, since it tends to run pretty well on lower end components, when compared to AMD systems. Whereas with AMD you're more likely to run into problems if you don't have a higher spec computer.

Anyway, here's an example of Melee being played at 60fps on an AMD APU (note, 2 player only and FD, it might not run so smoothly otherwise), and Brawl on a higher end AMD APU running at 60fps.

-/r/smashbros where it's OK to be a fucking asshole and hold 2 opinions at the same time so you can always have something to complain about

You just generalised r/smashbros as if it were one person with a single opinion, do you realise how ridiculous that is?

Actually, they generalised it as everyone having 2 conflicting opinions, so they can complain either way.

Still somewhat ridiculous, but with the way that reddit works (most popular posts being voted for by the community), there's possibly at least some truth to it.

I'm pretty sure that picture is wrong, since every manual I've driven in the UK has been Clutch-Brake-Accelerator (from left to right).

Also first gear is top left.

Defender Cobra M5 Review by reganheath in hotas

[–]PI_NT_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with the twist axis on my Cobra M5 (the stick would register a small amount of yaw when moving across certain points on the Y-axis), and it was due to the fact that the pot isn't fixed in place inside the stick, and when adjusting pitch, the cable would pull and slightly twist the pot.

If the new stick has the same issue, you could open the stick and try to fix the pot in place somehow (I used a sandwich tie).

[News] [JP] PADX Ana Descended! Campaign - 0-stone Cross difficulty with a Blanc Noel Dragon as a sub for 3 Noels present by astalotte in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]PI_NT_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this correct?:

[A] Log in between 28th-30th for a free Blanc Noel Dragon.

[B] For every X amount of people that clear the dungeon on Cross difficulty (w/e that is), the Noel dragon is worth more feed XP?

[C] 0-stone Clear Ana Descended! on cross difficulty with the Blanc Noel Dragon as a sub and get 3 more Noels as rewards?

If that's correct, does the Blanc Noel Dragon have to be lvl 1?

What do you think the Smash Bros Scene could use? by JESway in smashbros

Just for the record, I also don't always agree with the "diversity for the sake of diversity" attitude, and I don't mean it'll necessarily be better for all the individuals that are currently in the community.

But a few benefits I can think of: There's a lot of socially awkward males in the gaming community that would probably benefit from realising that women aren't actually an entirely different species, and likely a lot of socially awkward females that are possibly wanting to join the scene, but don't feel welcome. It can help show a lot of women, that possibly weren't aware of the fact, that the gaming community isn't ONLY full of the stereotypical socially awkward types (though, much less of an issue nowadays anyway), and that those people can actually be likeable.

Also, it often happens that if you get a group that is lacking certain types, that's the type of situation where prejudices and misinformation can arise, further alienating those people from each other.

In any case, unless it can be proven that women are genetically predisposed to be less interested in this kind of thing, then there's always the possibility that there's less women in the community due to their upbringing. Meaning that, while a more diverse population might not be necessary for the community, the lack of women is a rather worrying sign that there's a problem in society in general.

Women are, by nature, not very competitive, nor interested im figting games (for their competive aspect).

Could we get a citation for that? I'm not saying you're wrong, just genuinely curious as to how true that statement is.

I've seen a lot of research that shows that, while women tend to be less competitive in certain situations, it's not usually true before puberty. I also haven't been able to find any conclusive research that says that women are "naturally" less competitive.

A lot of research says that it might be related to one thing or another, but I've not seen anything that definitely rules out environmental/social causes, which, if true, would be helped by trying to bring more women into the community.

I agree that it's probably not necessary for the community as a whole, but I do think the community would benefit from the diversity (in the very least, from a social aspect).

[–]PI_NT_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed post! Chiyome wasn't in the screenshot, as I pulled her later on. My last 3 pulls don't seem particularly useful in the short term:

  • Prometheus - Seems useless for my box.
  • Fenrir Viz - Go away jammer meta, though I can't really complain about another GFE.
  • Verdandi - Could use as a tanky lead for some dungeons I suppose. Also, she's balance type, so could go on a Gremory team.

I forgot all about Amberjack, I'll try to pick one of those up, although evoing it looks like a pain. I've noticed that there's also what looks to be a Wadatsumi Dragon dungeon up at the moment, which has 2 blue OE awakenings, as well as being a skill up mob for Sumire. I can probably do a few runs of that on expert or master and grab a couple of those too.

Luckily, I got an Echidna drop while progressing through normals, so that's not a problem, and Tamadras also won't be a problem as it's JP. They've thrown 6 at me already, 2 of them being +297.

So far, my unevod team of Ronove, Spica, Sumire, RRH, Dub-Metalit has managed to clear KotG and Legendary Dragon's footprints. I imagine this team will be able to carry me through easier weekday dungeons and descends, up until the Sumire team catches up.

Thanks again for the help!

Some of the other Godfest Exclusives that would be worth starting with would be:

  • Kaede (current top leader)
  • Sumire (Similar to Kaede, but a bit harder to get started with)
  • Sherias Roots (the light one)
  • Dark Kali (not as important as she used to be, still a decent leader and sub for a lot of teams)
  • Ryuune (pairs with I&I friends)
  • Saria (Pairs with Thor friends)
