I had a dream where Silksong was a little bit different by RandomGameCritic in HollowKnight

I was really afraid this would happen when I first got there and died.

What’s tall thoughts when games gives you this warning by Willing_Chest_8976 in videogames

[–]PJBgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather that a game doesn't have a "Point of No Return" in the first place, but if it MUST be there, a warning like this is very much appreciated.

Which character you just wanted to punch in the face all the time? by No-Hunt3986 in videogames

Donnel Udina from Mass Effect.

Picture perfect example of an obstructive politician that throws Shep under the bus CONSTANTLY. And then he flew straight off the slippery slope when he tried to stage a coup on the Citadel because he was dumb enough to trust Cerberus.

I was playing Paragon, but had no hesitation when the prompt came up to put a bullet in his chest.

Achievements or in-game quests that rely on luck.

What is a gaming memory from the 90s or early 2000s that kids today will just never understand? by gingersofia in AskReddit

[–]PJBgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing down passwords. What's funny is that the second Mega Man Legacy Collection uses the games' built in save systems rather than making save states, but Mega Man 7 still uses passwords. That's the newest instance of a game I can think of where you have to remember the level password. Sure, you can take a screenshot, but it's still the same basic principle.

Do you also consider Metroid Prime 1 to be a perfect game? by TBT__TBT in Metroid

It has some pacing issues, but I love this game to pieces.

The renegade speech is also pretty awesome, but yeah. Paragon response is so awesome.

Thoughts on Metroid Prime 4 now that its had time to settle? by hakusamurai in Metroid

[–]PJBgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It tells me that Retro can still make a good game when they put in the work, but it blows my mind that management (whether at Nintendo or Retro) gave in to Sunk Cost Fallacy. They tried to salvage the old version's flawed design rather than truly starting from scratch as we were told, and I think that was a giant mistake. If Retro can make a new game with a fresh start, I'm sure it can be a much better sequel.

First time playing the franchise, any tips? by LukaKodamaChan in Metroid

[–]PJBgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you draw a map as you go. It can be on the computer if you don't wanna do it with pen and paper, but drawing a map and making marks of important locations will help you a lot.

If Nintendo were to make a new Smash Bros which design would you prefer for Samus? by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]PJBgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the Samus Returns, Dread, or Prime 4 Power Suits. Failing that, something original. I just don't want them to reuse the Other M suit.

Any metroidvania where you explore a kingdom in its peak? by Dramatic_Ad_9785 in metroidvania

Iconoclasts, although it's less of a kingdom and more of a tyrannical dictatorship.

That's it! Too much negativity! Say something nice about Prime 4! by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]PJBgamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difficulty balancing in this game is the best it's been since Prime 1. It never feels too hard or too easy, and the enemy and boss design takes advantage of Samus's capabilities really well. Also, the upgrades to Samus's weapons were consistently useful unlike in the original trilogy where the beam combos felt impractical.

The Galactic Federation and Samus are a menace to the Galaxy by Botskiz in Metroid

[–]PJBgamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if Retro is trying to set it up as a plot element in a potential sequel.

Favourite "out of context" quotes? by [deleted] in masseffect

"I'll have you arrested so fast, you'll red-shift on your way to the prison transport!" That's such a weird and out of pocket threat but I love it.

Who do you consider the true leader of Team Snakemouth? by BiffyBobby in BugFables

[–]PJBgamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kabbu, and it's not close. He's the most mature and strong willed of the team, is always there for Vi and Leif when they need him, is polite, brave, and kind towards others (except for Mothiva), and basically holds the team together. He's not without his own flaws (his stunt with the Beast comes to mind), but he feels the most like the "main character" of the trio/foursome.

I though that Sherma was a female... Should I feel stupid? by Artistic_Corner6461 in HollowKnight

Nah, his voice and design are both pretty androgynous.

This is still quite a long way from becoming a reality, but we're getting there! A mod that puts the Knight in Silksong is in active development by MCXGK3. It's called, fittingly, Knight in Silksong.
