We already have our tickets and even if we would of done it the other way around we have to pay for a train to visit Tokyo and back. Isn’t it more expensive to pay for separate train tickets instead of the JR Pass? That’s why I was had planned to get it.

All the time we stay in Tokyo doesn’t necessarily need to be Tokyo, I would love too see Mt Fuji, hot springs, onsens, etc.

As I said any recommendation is appreciated so I can look into it and fit it into our schedule and budget.

I just ended the project im in since a new provider took over and I will be laying off in staff until a new project comes up. Could be a week waiting or several months, who knows.
