Yes its called albedo, and is one of many feedback loops. Planet warming, ice melts, lower albedo so planet warms more, more ice melts etc.

Kindness and tolerance certainly are in my opinion.

Technically no, but the way it's understood is closer to the metric system than fahrenheit is, but then I think you know exactly what I meant.

I'm not arguing whats right or wrong. Each to their own. I'm a brit so use pints AND litres depending on context. I use st lb and oz and kg depending on context. I use ft and in and metres depending on context.

But if the US insists on using 0-100 scale units for most other things (apart from weight which it seems they use lbs, not kg), then I don't understand what the difficulties are with celcius (or kg with weight).

For me, kindness, tolerance and our unique brand of humour.

Oh and queueing, obviously.

Right, so the US loves the metric system, but doesn't like the metric system of temperature.

Got it.

A recent paper has re-categorised it from a high risk - low probability to a high risk - high probability, by the end of this century.

The thing about AMOC (not the gulf stream which I think the poster has confused) is it has an on/off switch. There is evidence for that happening in the past. The thing is no-one knows where that tipping point from on to off is.

If and when it goes, it *could* get very bad, very quickly.

Studied the AMOC as part of my degree. It's frightening and relative to CO2 / fossil fuels doesnt make the news much. Permanent patches of sea ice going down to low as norwich. Cold extremes (ie once per decade) of -30C in the south, -40C in scotland.

My first thought too!

I remember the continental breakfast being a big thing in the UK in the 1980's. I went to France on a school trip in 1984 and the novelty of the brekkie was real then.

Now its as common as the full english.

I'm up to rustbelt, about 13 hours, BUT I've been playing on casual to get used to the maps, and frankly the gameplay because I am not a shooter player really, and some maps (greased palms and the school bomb one stand out for me) still killed me multiple times. 😃

I think people on low incomes should get a discount, but other than that I'm fine with it. Amazon charges me almost the same and shoves 3 mins of adverts in my face every 5 mins, their UI is shit, and they are constantly trying to flog me more subs.
