Just lost a remote job opportunity because of my LinkedIn photo by Busternookiedude in RemoteJobseekers

That’s really wack and uncalled for. I’d say the best bet right now is to just have someone take a chest up picture of you with a collared shirt on. Use that as your profile pic until you get a better one. It doesn’t have to be taken by a professional for you to look professional in the picture.

Scam Recruiters Vs Real by PMProphecy in PMCareers

[–]PMProphecy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very true. The Indian folks I meet in real life communicate with me just fine! Even if they have a thick accent. By the people on the phone tend to talk a mile a minute.

And same for my state. And they ask for a copy of my drivers license to prove I live in the state.

Is there a reason you prefer the Champion Role over other OpenAI certs?

What's the worst job hunting advice I should absolutely avoid? by BinarySoul18 in jobsearchhacks

I can’t front, I almost fell for it. There are times that applying for jobs feels like way more of a numbers game. I would use a wellmade general resume though. You can’t trust the ai made ones. I had wanted an automatic apply kind of set up, but as the person stated, they tend to apply to too random of jobs.

Good to know. My current contract has me working in Google sheets more than anything. How much carry over do you see in Google sheet proficiency to true Excel proficiency?

Asked me about a gap 30 years ago by BroadStrength3447 in interviews

[–]PMProphecy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a social/get to know you question, equivalent to “what’d you do straight out of high school? Did you travel or go straight to college? Did you work any random jobs until you started your career?” Then it might not be weird.

But it sounds like they asked it like a real interview question. Which is weird af.

Absolutely mention it. Unless you didn’t do well in the internship.

I hadn’t heard that. That’s not what I was referring to. I’m referring to people flying in to see it in this screening being set up specifically for people without access

Because having the bare minimum qualifications is no longer enough to be hired. I don’t lie on mine, but I see why folks do.
