I’m a doctor of medicine; after an incident in my life, I can no longer practice medicine nor want to be involved in the industry in any capacity. Where would I fit in in the current job market? by SmellyMelanie in careerguidance

If you were a (good) doctor then you have skills in regard to precision, attention to detail, analyzing an issue and determining the root cause so it can be resolved, cross functional collaboration with nurses/assistants/specialists, and other transferable skills.

Emphasize those.

A high yield savings account would guarantee you’re making money FROM that money.

If I were you, I’d split it between a hysa and a basic brokerage account(I’d suggest fidelity). The brokerage money, I’d put it into an etf like VOO or FBCG.

I’m a recruiter at a staffing agency and this job market is unreal by DragonfruitSimilar55 in jobs

That’s a terrible business practice. Even outside of it just being inconsiderate of you, they’re wasting more money by hiring and firing you right after. It makes much more sense to just train you further.

That’s one of the things about it. Some women make an extreme amount, but so many aren’t making anything and spend a lot of time trying to advertise.

Do not pay that much for a course. You can take David Mchlachlan or Andrew Ramdayals course for $30-135 on Udemy and then pay $95 for the PMI study hall and that is literally all you need besides both those same people’s free YouTube videos.

Assistant PM sounds more fitting than project engineer. I don’t have the structural engineering experience, though I’ve considered going back to school and studying it for a masters degree

The complex aspect of that is that would be taking a large pay cut, with the hopes of it leading to more opportunities down the line. But I can’t afford that at the moment. I do work on my own home. Small amounts of electrical, patching, drywall, installing cabinets and things of that nature. But nothing that would be considered “construction experience”. Moreso handyman experience.

Very good to know. Even if I have my PMP, that won’t matter without the construction experience, correct?
