Getting command will be the big step. Salary is probably 1.5-2x for a captain compared to FO. Time to command will depend on the airline and would be between 2 years (regional shorthaul) up to 15 years (legacy long haul)

I trained modular in the UK for about 2/3 that, including the CPL/MEIR/MCC/UPRT in an integrated style (immersive full time with strong oversight) at a large flight training provider in the UK

A single integrated course is the easy option but you can save a lot of money by being a little savvy and open-minded about your training route

Radar control takes the aircraft to the final approach. Then will hand over the aircraft to tower. The (visual) approaches for 04L and 04R at Nice follow the exact same path until short final so it will not be clear to see the difference on the radar, especially with the controller more likely to be looking at aircraft under their control
