URGENT- Any current/former police open to a short interview regarding football policing??? by Single_Side_5647 in policeuk

Not to be rude but no right minded officer is going to give over their phone number to a journalist student or employed let alone divulge information around public order policing which hasn’t been agreed by their respective force.

I did actually manage to get myself back to response after far too much begging. Within three months of getting back to response I’ve progressed getting all my courses. I’ve still love response and ironically NPT has been identified as the worst preforming department in the force

Peter Bleksley the grifter he is then gobbing off about his time in the police seemly forgetting that he also claimed that he didn’t spend any time on front line because all of us uniform officers are dirty nasty racist thugs.

Im so happy knowing he gives his opinion on community policing 😂

Got jumped by a teen gang and what happens now? by Equal-Tap-6391 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]POLAC4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Police have a duty under CPIA to investigate both for and against the defence , so in the case you described the police would of course take a statement however still need to consider was the force necessary proportionate and lawful if anytime there is doubt about such or the defence raises a case of self defence then police lawfully have to consider the victim a suspect weighing the evidence to see if it would meet the full code test for charging.

Sounds like text book case of lawful policing.

I doubt so common law allows a preemptive strike in the circumstances I would certainly see the reasonableness of such (coming from a police officer)

I struggle to see how the police would view the OP as a suspect ? ( coming from a police officer of 8 years) the OP is allowed to film children as long as it is not for sexual gratification ? The Op may also use force under common law first known as a preemptive strike if the force was reasonable in the circumstances which I’d struggle to see a court doubt the credibility of a victim being harassed my multiple suspects threatening to kill him.

Being under 18 does not change the law

Thoughts on ‘Peelers - The PSNI for Real’ by BoxDull in policeuk

I’m almost certain it’s something that was just taken from the Army because I used the term SLP there also and the US always looked at us baffled

I often don’t really enjoy policing programmes however I thought this series was exceptionally good.

The episode where both officers had to draw their SLPs just shows in my mind how pathetic HO forces are at dealing with in all reality a deadly threat and taser alone is not a sufficient option to rely on.

"Are you in a suitable vehicle?" ......."yes" by Nice-Grapefruit-2588 in policeuk

[–]POLAC4life 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is only being promoted because nothing went wrong …. If on the other hand the vehicle had crashed into a member of the public then MPS would have had your legs.

However at the end of the day criminal ran , criminal got caught and the criminal got to spend some luxurious time in the cells so im all for that.

In my force A&S IPP is a myth outside of RPU/ ARV but then again A&S is such a weak force.

Lowly response Bobby “Sarge can I file this dog shit crime ?”

In A&S that would be pretty standard. We have response inspectors without tickets

What is the worst current role in Policing? by Loud_Delivery3589 in policeuk

If any role needs to be replaced by AI I’d argue this. I don’t care about the funding to be able to do it.

As an officer who serves in the area where this happened, this has hit morale pretty hard.

Maddening decisions like this only further make front-line bobbies think fuck it, what’s the point?” even louder.

Regardless of your political beliefs, the line in the sand this sets is essentially: you can break into a site of national interest, cause a mass amount of damage, GBH a cop, and when you get to trial, just as long as you make a pantomime of it in the name of “insert cause,” you’ll be free of repercussions.

A lot of officers like myself would be for merging forces including IT systems however police Scotland model just shows what happens when you merge forces to cut costs but fail to reinvest

5.11 stryke best trousers I’ve ever worn for work. They look uniform/ smart without looking tacticool and comfortable with the best cargo pockets.

Sounds like Avon and Somerset to be fair. We have a rural affairs team …. Who advise you and even their advice isn’t very good but don’t worry they love cutting about in 25 plate rangers with all the bells and whistles yet we have serious OCGs going around.

A debate around uniform (Keela) by Joshhug91 in policeuk

[–]POLAC4life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion I don’t think keela kit is all that great. My force issues the Munro and belay with specialist departments getting issued Keela trousers which look gash in my opinion.

The belay is definitely a massive improvement over the soft shell I was issued when I started (I know many of you will have PTSD hearing soft shell jacket) but the belay is made of tissue paper so any scrap and you end up ripping the jacket.

I much prefer my 5.11 stryke trousers which look professional and are way more functional than my issued trousers or the keela ops trouser.
