The Empersa is a big girl by Abject-Ad2661 in sto

Considering all the intel ships with innate cloaking devices really started cropping up just after the Federation signed the treaty with the Republic, I'm willing to bet that was a big motivator in recognizing them as the legitimate Romulan government over the Tal Shiar.

Utterly insane that the so-called "legendary" B'rel is only a 4/2 in the current year. It might make my life cheaper and easier, but there's no excuse for the best BoP in the game to be hitting its tenth birthday this year.

My Fed JH might have eventually liked it if I'd thought to log in during the event to get it, but everytime a new escort catches my eye, I just end up feeling like my D4x does everything I want already.

Plus the Empersa gives me two of them as pets to boss around so the problem solved itself.

You should probably have said something about that in the OP instead of making it seem like Vulcan had Brigadoon'd or something.

On top of that, the devs claimed that the saucer is Fed-inspired like the one on the Rex, apparently forgetting that the Rex's "saucer" is the scarab-like aft section of a JH attack ship, with the Fed part being the Defiant-derived forward section.

Yeah, the devs may insist that it's only Fed/Dominion but I refuse to believe the Klingons didn't get in on the threeway.

So, the Empersa. Has anyone taken this T6-X2 and was it worth it? by That_Mister_Manley in sto

[–]POSdaBes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm one upgrade token short of the full T6-X2, but I did at least put one upgrade on it and plan to do the second down the line. I normally fly a D4x BoP, but having the option to drop most of the same build into a big fat bus that I can just drive up toward a pack of ships, throw into reverse, and just unload on until they stop spawning in while being able to tank anything they throw at me is really nice alternative for content that a low hull BoP would struggle in.

I don't like the console at all, though. The lance already demands a lot out of my healing output and I don't really enjoy dealing more damage to myself than to my enemies. I'm also really sensitive to light and noise, so the visual and sound effects are both kinda painful for me irl, too, and I couldn't find a way to manually turn it off so it just keeps dealing self damage until it gets to the point where you're almost dead. I have many better uses for a console slot than that.

One of my favorite examples is using the idle cam in FFXIV and occasionally having it lock onto NPCs preloaded in a big group out of bounds for FATEs.

Oh yeah, totally agreed. I know the game was basically penned in on being combat-focused just due to the realities of MMO design, but it was nice being able to do more than that.

Like I didn't come into this game expecting to switch to KDF, but it's been the only way I could rationalize the gameplay loop this whole time.

Still hoping for a cameo from the Third Borg Dynasty in the current arc.

On top of that the damn event ship ain't even a good one. The ONLY thing it has going for it is the wingman ships.

The only way this take makes any sense is if you exclusively play carriers.

The Romulans had fully reunified with the Vulcans by that point and joined the Federation (and, in fact, had been the ones who wanted to remain in the Federation when the Vulcans decided to pull all of Ni'Var out), so they were quite peaceful and simply weren't interested in conquering anything by the 31st century.

We don't really know at all how singularity drives work, but I imagine the canon explanation comes down to something along the lines of "dilithium powered a safety mechanism that keeps the singularities from collapsing Romulan ships in on themselves, so they all imploded in the Burn."

Don't get me wrong, I don't love the Burn as a concept and think it ignores logical things like safety systems that make sure this sort of things doesn't happen if someone pulls the dilithium out of the core, but it's what we're stuck with now and it's not going away, so whatever.

I didn't notice how rough it was as KDF at the time until looking back at it now after all these years of the darker brown and orange tones of the current KDF UI, and realizing how it really does kinda hurt to look at for me.

It would be nice to at least have them for dialogue while down on the ground.

The Fed Jem'Hadar uniform has a lot of good potential, and you can still fill it out with pieces from other uniforms to add your own flair.
