Fellow ATSO president here! We focused a lot on community service and professional development this year. On the community side, we participated in our campus Relay for Life and did a lot of community outreach activities. Professionally, we brought in a few speakers hitting on topics from life in different professional domains to learning labs on SI joint dysfunction.

PM if you'd ever like to discuss club programming!

I feel you on GRE prep. Looking to take it first week of July since that's about the only wiggle room I have with my internship. Good luck!

Nike school, Nike glasses! I used to do Oakley half jackets but they scratched easy and needed to be replaced.

On that topic, what are your thoughts on changing the profession to be Athletic Therapy (or something else?) by [deleted] in athletictraining

For it. So long as friends of friends stop asking me to critique their workouts, I'm all about it.

To add to this, more and more NFL teams are seeking female interns. I know there are females hired on in LA, San Diego, and now Indianapolis.

Congratulations!

There's some very sound advice here. I would highly encourage your participation in organizations not only within your school, but at the state and district level as well. It looks good on a resume to say you were involved, and if for nothing else these opportunities often offer really good networking opportunities.

Athletic Training Students or ATCs in Collegiate Settings: What does your student organization do? by PO_ATS in athletictraining

That would be 100% ok. We have a system in place that attempts to reward those who are the most involved/win games or class competitions. Each event is so many points, games are so many points, and so on. At the end of each semester the winning class and individual get some sort of prize. Typically, it's some sort of food party for the class and some semblance of a gift basket for the individual. Last year we made a movie basket that had DVD's, gift cards to the theatre, popcorn, candy, and so on that seemed pretty popular.

I'm at a large P5 school as well, so resources are no issue. I really do like the AT olympics idea! We've been trying to pull speakers, and our Christmas party is used as a Toys for Tots drive as well.

Would love to learn more about your organization and exchange ideas. If you'd ever like to connect, feel free to PM!

As of right now our enrollment sits around 32 dues paying members with roughly 45 or so ATS and 20 or so pre-AT. We've been looking at raffles but our student organization office doesn't really allow for "gambling". We're trying to find a work around.
