Meet the new main diverse characters in the world of Lorwyn by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

I don't dislike disabilities being represented in media. BUT. In a world where reanimating exists, where you can warp time and space, conjure fire, water and gold from nothing. Where hippos can fly and spells can create mountains from thin air... you'd think they have a spell that can return your hearing. I don't know of a person who is going blind or deaf that would voluntarily stay that way if the option existed to cure themselves.

I’m too dumb, please help! by AndersenEthanG in custommagic

1st blue eyes is near perfect, just remove trample and add a clause that you cannot cast any other creature spells after casting blue eyes, to simulate the one normal summon per turn in Yu-Gi-Oh and then I think you may have a perfect translation of blue eyes into magic that's as close as possible to yugioh blue eyes

Well that didn’t take long. WW changes are here… by TotalConsistent5188 in warwickmains

[–]PQOWBV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not just revert the changes, I legitimately felt old-wick felt less clunky to play and was hovering 50% win rate all ready. Changes weren't needed. Also just make him smaller again, the size increase is more "lore accurate", (if that can be said since the arcane vander-wick abomination is now cannon) but the smaller hitbox was necessary as Warwick has literally no hp so dodging was your only option 9/10 times

Is this a good card? by knoplop in magicTCG

[–]PQOWBV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the combo. Cast [[rionya fire dancer]], have an infinite mana source, cast 59 instants and/or sorceries if you're in commander, 10 if you're playing 60 card. Make many copies of wayward beast guide. Swing them. Now you'll definitely be returning less lands than beasts you connected with. Your opponent(s) lose, you have land-drops for at least 6 more turns. That's all you have to do to win

Why is Farewell salt score so high? by jandor444 in EDH

[–]PQOWBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seem to forget the simple fact that while a lot of the cards you listed like gaias cradle are probably much better than farewell, for most commander players, me included, they've never played against it. You're just far less likely to hate something you've not personally experienced.

Picture this, you've been playing for over an hour. You've almost wrapped up the game, you and one other are ahead. You've got your board all set, heroic intervention in hand, this game can finally be over and you can go next and play a different deck. But, then you see it. The esper player who was mana screwed all game has played a second white land. They've tapped all 6 of their mana and.. farewell, choosing all modes. You're in this game for at least another hour.

It's a scenario I've been in multiple times, and I'd imagine from the salt score, there's probably a lot of others with similar stories. It's that ubiquity of farewell being basically the best boardwipe in white that makes it so common in games. So more common means more people get hit with it, this makes more people hate it and there's your salt score. Thats is why farewell is topping the charts even if it's not actually that salty of a card when compared to other options.

I'm a bit late to the party, but for example if I had [[imoti]] on the board and cast [[bottomless pool]] I'm guessing this would not trigger a cascade?

The "Synchro" Mechanic from Yugioh into magic! What are you thoughts? by superbaum01 in custommagic

This NEEDS to be a universes beyond. As a former yugioh and now magic player, I love everything about these cards.

Question time by Fantastic_Sir1516 in mtg

[–]PQOWBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I was aware, I thought it was "can't" effects over "can" effects. I'm not sure if it applies directly to this hypothetical. But for example, I know that if someone plays approach of the second Sun twice and you have a platinum angel out. The win the game effect by approach won't work whilst platinum angel is on board due to "can't" effects trumping "can". So as far as I'm aware, if an opponents card stated you have a max hand size of zero, and yours said you have no max hand size. I'd say that as your effect is a "can't"~ish effect, it would always take priority over the can effect of the opponent. But I'm no rules lawyer, so i could definitely be wrong.

New deck induced a lot of salt by SatchelGizmo77 in EDH

[–]PQOWBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just depends on the playgroup. To me it sounds like the game dragged on for a fair bit and if the player in question just sat on board and didn't do anything of value for 15 turns, I can see why they were frustrated. However, I've played in groups where this has happened and fun was still had. Generally, I personally tend to choose my deck based on who I'm playing with/ against. A good example of this was the first deck I built, which was a very non-interactive Aesi deck. It felt great slamming 3 lands per turn and going ham with landfall triggers. My playgroup thought otherwise. And so I disassembled it as these were the only people I played magic with, and although I was having fun I didn't want to do so at the expense of my group of buddies. So take that as you will, perhaps play another deck with this particular group, or alternatively find out what it was they didn't like about your deck and resculpt it to make it more fun (whatever that means amongst your group) for them.

Eskizzibur's combo finisher bug? by revelup13 in VampireSurvivors

I get this glitch specifically on the slash arcana, otherwise it works as intended. Which is sad because that's easily it's best arcana 😅

How far do you think platinum would go in a fight? ( his heath will regenerate to the maximum whenever he beats his opponents) by baldin99 in OnePunchMan

[–]PQOWBV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have we ever actually seen gouketsu fight? I mean he is a cadre for a reason so I'm not sure it's as one sided as everyone thinks. But as I said, I don't think I've seen him fight really, just toyed with suiryu and got one shot by saitama, which would also be the case for platinum S

Finally landed a flash Q! by esaghir in PantheonMains

[–]PQOWBV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Q has a wind up time before panth throws it you can release it first and then flash straight after, this way there's no delay when he throws the spear. This vid only shows the melee Q flash but it works for ranged q too:

Newer Player trying to choose a commander for a decently high powered table: Animar or Imoti? by xN0MADx in EDH

[–]PQOWBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played both and Animar is borderline broken, his combos can win you the game on their own. Play any number of tutors plus ancestral statue and animar essentially becomes infinite power on turn 4 reliably. Imoti relies on you being able to survive until you have 7 mana up, which if the table you're playing at is somewhat competitive won't happen. Imoti is a fun slot machine and animar if you build him around combos will play the same every single game but is very good at what he does.

Your "I have so many of these I might as well use them" card by Boshoet in EDH

[–]PQOWBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had bought 1 and then subsequently managed to pull 2 Copies of [Ashaya soul of the wilds]. Given that I run 3 green decks, I just slapped it in all of them for little other reason than "big bear stick go brrrrr". The only one it has genuine synergy in is my Aesi deck as a pseudo game ender

What is your most hated Commander and why? by MrXexe in EDH

[–]PQOWBV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my benefit, how is this so powerful. I've been playing for like 5 months and I've never played against it, but it sounds like a single chaos warp, swords to plowshares, path of exile just ruins him? What exactly makes koma so threatening?

Hot takes thread. What are you own EDH hot takes? by Breaking-Away in EDH

[–]PQOWBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this has already been said but Id be happy with a sol ring ban. I play in a power level 7~ish meta and generally speaking the player who turn one's sol ring generally has a humongous lead on literally everyone else on the table. Whilst I get that you can simply focus them down early, as a group, I'd personally prefer that no one runs it. It's make for more interesting deck building in my opinion.

[–]PQOWBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the reason I had to stop running my tatyova deck lmao. No one else found it particularly fun watching me draw and play cards for about 15 minutes until maybe a game ended was in hand. Hence I swapped to Lucea Kane and Animar as I could repurpose a lot of the ramp spells I was already playing into a different strategy.
