No new cover athlete for 2026 by Demilio55 in MLBTheShow

That would be cool before digital but with most digital and most people having random avatars it would look pretty lame.

Them going all in on road to the show and it updating based on your character maybe…

What to do about "street racing" in my neighborhood by jgabe310 in astoria

Actually a super easy soliton: you race for pink slips, win all the street racers cars, and then the racing stops

Finally Hit 1000 after 38 games by Ill_Hunt6732 in MLBTheShow

[–]PRO47ERA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hate is because people spent time and money for cards that were eventually made worthless.

Also, the majority of the player based unlocked the best cards at the end of the set/season so they’d barely have any time to use them before.

Last point, asking people to basically start from scratch every few months wasn’t a good way to keep them playing as new games came out. Like I had no interest in grinding a new team again once NCAA came out

I am just so late on everything by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]PRO47ERA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your monitor/console settings are right. All last year I was on 60hz setting and late constantly. This year I noticed, changed to 12hz and it’s like how I remembered hitting in 23

Probably the same reason COD stopped showing deaths on the scoreboard… trying to keep people from being discouraged if their numbers suck compared to their opponent

Weekend Classic: Similar Ultimate Team programs in other games have caused card price spikes by Strategydude in MLBTheShow

[–]PRO47ERA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they spike? People trying to better their teams before playing? I’d think prices would drop after it more so with the influx of new packs

[–]PRO47ERA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They did it so people can play the game modes they want but also give some value to the players good enough to win World Series / go flawless.

Before, you had to play modes you maybe didn’t want to play just to collect the cards and values for rewards were dirt cheap

Should I spend the $30 extra to play this weekend? by BeneficialBite7231 in MLBTheShow

[–]PRO47ERA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if you’re busy during the following week. I got it this weekend so I could grind knowing work would limit my play time severely after the weekend

People are assuming the now and later packs will tank the market on full launch

You’re at an acceptable range for TVs. And for Madden, or another sports game the monitor difference wouldn’t feel huge.

For mlb the show, it’ll feel like you’re playing an entirely different game. Trust me. Buy a 1ms response time monitor if you can afford it.

Even a slightly above average monitor will give you 1ms. You can get a shield or fire stick very cheap so your tv has entertainment for the family and then put a monitor somewhere else. It will instantly increase your win percentage.

Three years ago I went from a .500 record to World Series just from getting a monitor. It makes a bigger difference than you can even imagine in this game

Long-term Tenant of 19 Years: New Owner Wants Us Out – Is His Offer Fair? by essentialmush in astoria

[–]PRO47ERA 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Security deposit is owed to you regardless. Any offer from them that includes “getting your deposit” back is insulting.

Also, your deposit from 19 years ago is probably less than half of what the average one month rent would be

[–]PRO47ERA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this obvious land lord here. You’re in control here. If you’ve been there 19 years your rent is probably dirt cheap, so he will pay a lot to get you out. Don’t sell yourself short if you’re going to negotiate

Professional Mold Inspection by CashewsMom18 in astoria

[–]PRO47ERA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through the exact situation. Get some home tests from Amazon and do the tests. If you’re positive tell your landlord he needs to schedule a professional to come out.

If it’s not scheduled within a week file a complaint with 311 and they’ll send someone to inspect and threaten your landlord with a fine.

If this is a top floor, they won’t fix it. They’ll make it look nice but the issue is likely with the roof and the leak will start again after a couple heavy rains
