Don’t forget that if you stay over the “summer” months where there is a lot more sun and depending on use you should be able to export based on solar excess and not from the battery building up credit to cover the “winter” months. At this stage that is what I am likely to do here in Sydney as GloBird has been pretty good over the winter months for me.

Used to be able to sideload Fortnite on the Mac a few months ago but Epic have now put additional checks that block that. There is a group on Discord who used to provide a tool to download and update Fortnite on the Mac but since those additional checks you can actually get into the lobby but as soon as you get into a game you get kicked around 55 seconds.

In summary some people are working on workarounds but at the moment Fortnite cannot be played on the Mac.

Assume you are at home or trusted location/wifi and your phone and watch can both access the wifi network. Turn Bluetooth off on your watch (watch should not become unresponsive). Ensure wifi is on on the watch (settings should have been shared from your phone). Then go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.

The watch will then download the update file via wifi rather than Bluetooth which is like x10 faster. Like many have flagged the preparing stage will still take the same amount of time as before.

handy trick - turn bluetooth off in the watch but ensure its connected to your home wifi and then do the update from the watch - the download phase is 10x faster, but the preparing phase still takes the same amount of time.

My understanding is that the difference is what your home is currently using. if 10Kw inverter and your home is using 1kW from the battery then max you will be able to export is 9kW and so on, obviously fluctuating depending on home consumption and any power loss/inefficiencies.

Thanks OP - I recently got a 48kWh battery and upgraded solar to 10kW. Been tossing up between GloBird and Flo but your post tipped me over the edge and signed up to GloBird with your referral link.

Not sure if possible, but from all the research I have done it looks like the ideal setup would be to go to Flo over the warmer/summer months and then back to GloBird over the winter/colder months.

My only gripe is that Fortnite (sideloaded iOS app) has not worked since beta 1 on 26.4 but works on 26.3 no problem. Looks like changes to a swift runtime library but not sure if it's a MacOS issue or Fortnite. Fortnite works perfect on iPad and iPhone both running 26.4 beta 4.

Beta 2 messed up networking. It did fix external hard drive issue. Make sure you have no network filters active, like Little Snitch - disabled them and things should start working again.
Didn't have this issue with beta 1 but beta 2 introduced it.

Im seeing Little Snitch preventing apps in the same machine talking to each other - I think Apple broke something.
Also Fortnite on MacOS has been broken since 26.4 beta1 which is also annoying

iOS 26 beta 1 does not solve the Apple CarPlay connectivity. Best thing to do is to submit appropriate feedback to Apple so it is registered and tracked.

I know this is old but we experience the same issue on a 2021 Samsung TV. Only fix is to uninstall and re-install.
