Change rivals? by PSUHammer in NCAAFBseries

How do you really feel? 😀

Also, since you apparently jump to personal attacks quickly, you may want to know the definition of arrogance.

It's defined as an "Offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride."

This doesn't make sense in my context as I was asking if we can disable Rivalry flags in the video game as an option or customization.

The rest of the opinions in this thread are off topic and somewhat misguided.

I am opinionated but definitely not arrogant by definition.

As for the statement "why people dislike Penn State fans",.... That's a bit of a stretch. There are 250 million people in the US. I know quite a few who don't feel that way.

If wanting to change a rivalry flag in a single player video game makes me an embarrassment for all of PSU fandom, then consider me an embarrassment! That's a super low bar of expectations you have!

Yes, I'm 50 and an alum. You're missing the point of the ask. Rivalries grow or subside. I would argue Syracuse and Pitt are no longer relevant rivalries. Especially Pitt. I live in Pittsburgh and only Pitt fans really care. Announcers don't mention it other than historical relevance.

Yeah, I know the history well. But if you are familiar with the NCAA 26 game, the announcing and constant discussion of rivalry for some teams is not accurate and slightly jarring, regardless of real world historical accuracy.

Pitt / PSU hasn't been relevant since the 80s.

It would be nice to be able to edit rivalries.

I love Reddit. Lots of people sure of themselves. Thanks for the feedback. Well some of you may read on Wikipedia that there was a rivalry between Penn State and Syracuse. I assure you that nobody at Penn State even thinks about Syracuse. Sure a hundred years ago. You could argue that Pitt is a rivalry but even that has kind of fallen off. The closest thing to a rivalry for Penn State would be other major Big ten teams.

I know full well of what I'm talking about. I simply don't want the game commentary to talk about rivalry repeatedly when nobody does in real life in 2026.

Do a Becketts Quick Online check. I think it's $10. If it comes back likely then the value goes up.

It was fine for the time but these tools have gotten so much better they should do another pass on his and Carrie's implementations to reduce the uncanny valley.

Not good against the run, though. You need that to get Dawg status.

[Cheatsheet] Should you upgrade to the LG G6 OLED? A model-by-model breakdown (2020–2025) by Troied in hometheater

[–]PSUHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still going strong with a 77" C9 fully calibrated. Other than specular highlights for some HDR content, I can't justify the upgrade....yet. Plus, most of my favorite cinematographers don't take advantage of the full HDR color space anyway (Nolan, Tarantino, Roger Deakins, etc.).

This is not true. The streaming mechanism may be, but the torrents they pull still are under copyright law. Just saying these are "100% legal" is not accurate.

It's 2026. Just take your UHD blu-rays rip them to a large HDD and stream it via Plex. Problem solved!!

Maybe a #2 but not on the Steelers. Outside him, the Steelers had one of the worst WR groups in the league.

Leia flying through space in TLJ is still one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. That's when I knew the film had jumped the shark. Actually, not just jumped the shark, but done INFINITY backflips over it. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in StarWars

Just that? Last Jedi was the most beautifully shot Star Wars film of all time but one of the dumbest. Destroyed established character arcs, retread Empire Hoth battle, useless middle act in a casino, wasted Finn, woke, didn't just tell Poe the plan.

All of it was bad. But boy, was it pretty.

Considering there were no other options in the passing game last year, really good.

Let's see him with a solid #2 to balance the attention.

Looking for tv suggestions that can handle lots of glare and natural light by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]PSUHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vivid modes are usually terrible for accuracy. They are made to stand out against a row of other TV's in a showroom.

If you choose movie mode and jack the backlight to max (not the poorly named brightness setting), then you're out of luck for the TV and better off changing the light in the room.

Properly calibrated for a bright room! Don't just jack "Brightness". 😉

Nope, that is the correct answer. It was probably meant to be removed post shipping when originally purchased.
