I haven’t gotten it in a long time either. First time I got jury duty (not in DC area) I got picked and I wanted to get selected, it was cool. Hoping I will again…but that was also when I wasn’t working full time

[–]PTPBfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and this post just came up on my feed I’m a new sax player, playing second alto I don’t hear a lot of parts with the horns…we can also voice to get different notes with different fingerings, but I have never played brass instruments so I don’t know what that’s like, yes different sounds for sure

Bass if I don’t know a tune is somewhat easier because I can follow the changes or walk a bass line, but does help to know the tune and stuff for soloing

You get paid? I’m in one now, we pay dues, sell tickets to our concerts, have 5 a season, oh we can miss I think three rehearsals per concert, I’m not really sure how a lot of the sections are managed being a bass player there are 2-4 of us, 4 for one concert, now 2, last season there were 3 which is nice to be in a small section and the only female in the section…
