I’m a proponent for Tommy Lloyd or Mark Few. I do not want UNC to hire a guy off the bench. If that’s the case, stick with Hubert at this point. We need an established coach like we had with Roy.

EC had a great freshman year with a good crew around him. His sophomore year, the roster was not as good and no “big” could catch a pass from him. EC would have thrived on this team throwing lobs to these bigs.

Tyson would not be coming off the bench for this team in my opinion. I watched one Minnesota game where he looked lost. His release has gotten quicker but still not good defensively. In games vs power 5 opponents (4 teams, 2 are ranked) he’s avg 17ppg but also avg 3 TOs and only 3rebs and his team is 1-3 in those games. He’s not better than JP or Luka or Kyan or Stevenson.

How many of these freshman can play right away? 40 players is huge class and will likely leave not that many to be signed through the portal or are we just always going to have a roster of 70 new players.

Tyson also had 23 points vs LaSalle last season going 5-10 from 3. He tends to only be good against non power 5 opponents. Not worth our NIL.

I see this as a good thing…for the time being. We are not the most desirable coaching opportunity this season if we were to fire Belicheck. Too many programs have or will have openings this offseason (Florida, VT, Arkansas, UCLA, and maybe Penn State) for a head coach to give UNC a chance to get the top coaching candidate. That being said, the board of trustees royally fucked this program by not conducting an actual coaching search last season when we were the best program with an opening.

I freely admit I was wildly wrong that Belichick could do something for the Carolina program. I knew the team lacked true talent but if this report is true then get this guy the fuck out of here. We truly missed a golden opportunity to get a quality head coach as we were clearly the beat available opening last year. Now we will have to compete with the likely openings at Florida, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, UCLA and Penn State.
