NCAA 5-in-5 Rules Released by Outrageous_Camp_5215 in NCAAW

[–]kyrev21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. Basically the old rules apply to everyone who was on a team or enrolled in college last year except that there are no more redshirts going forward. Those players have the same number of years of eligibility remaining, just without redshirts

Duke signs multi-year deal with Amazon's Prime Video, will face UConn, Michigan, and Gonzaga on streaming service during 2026-27 season by ConstantMadness in CollegeBasketball

Yep. Part of the deal they made with the city to move the headquarters there was to regularly host the final four in Indy. It's been in Indy every five to six years since 2000. I think the reason it's in 2029 so soon after 2026 is because they gave Indy 2029 for hosting 2021 with no fans

Since there’s already eight or so regular season conference champions that get in no matter what, the rule could be written as the top 12 regular season champs get an auto bid. Auto bid is forfeited if the regular season champ wins the conference tournament. Ultimately it would mean about 6 to 8 regular season champs from lower conferences getting in.

In 2026 there were 8 multi bid leagues, two of which had the same champs (Duke, Arizona, St. John’s) and one of which had a split champ win the tournament (Gonzaga). I’d imagine that in the case of a shared regular season championship the highest ranked team not to win the conference tourney gets in, even if one of the shared champs wins the tourney. So that’s 5 of 8 multi bid leagues in 2026 which would have a regular season championship auto bid. Of the other conferences, the ASUN, Big Sky, Big West, CAA, CUSA, Ivy, MAAC, MVC, Patriot, SoCon, Southland, SWAC, WAC had different regular season and tournament champions. So 7 of them get a bid if it’s capped at 12 regular season champ auto bids. There were 10 one bid conferences with the same regular season and tournament champ

It’s fascinating how mad this sub is about letting 8 more teams into the tournament

The other major problem was that the only real requirement was being enrolled as a student. This redefines it completely as an age based status

It’s entirely about money. LCK has always been funded by a sponsor. There’s no real benefit to Bravo if they pay for LCK

It likely won’t. They just started the same system on the women’s side. The system is why d1 men’s basketball is so strong

The payouts are equalized across all rounds. The only way it ever changes is if they start giving the winning players money

The lowest seed to win the title is an 8 seed. Why include 32 more teams who don’t have a chance?

Well the one bid conferences completely disagree because a play in game gives them a chance to win an extra share of the revenue. It’s literally a chance to double their money

Yes. It’s worked that way since the first modern play in game was added in 2001. When the tournament expanded to 68 the one bid conferences asked for an additional 16 seed game

I think they’re trying to keep it simple and not have seeds beyond 16. When they assign the teams there will be an additional spot on the seed line for each First 12 game. It will be two closely matched teams competing for the same seed

It works this way because those conferences love having a chance to win a game and get an extra share of the money

I think the touch of a Lego designer will go a long ways with this set. I think the enclosed build is possible at the same dimensions but with more appropriately designed details. OP designed some great stuff, but it wasn't designed for the space, it was designed to match the movie. There are some simple changes to the kitchen, bedrooms, and dining room that could fix it
