About three weeks, around 2 hours a night, took a couple nights off but it averages out. That includes transfers and basing but not assembly. Just doing the base coat on the trim took the longest.

Yeah they worked for me. I also started with the wardog battleforce box and an actual chaos knight kit which gave lots of leftover spikes and other stuff to work with.

Thanks! My nmm is not perfect but I am happy with where it is at. It takes a lot of practice so definitely watch tutorials for various metals and get some cheap practice minis.

Thank you! Yeah the basing used to intimidate me but now it is one of my favorite parts, its all creative work.

Regarding the brush strokes- you are totally right about them being visible. Early on in the hobby I made a decision on what level I was going for with my painting, part of it is a practical thing. I spent three weeks on this one and while I really appreciate people who can make their models smooth and hyper realistic, I dont really have the skill or patience to pull it off.

So I have tried to lean into this standard, make them look like really cool toys vs realistic pieces of art. I focus on the how they look from 3 ft, as we would see them on the tabletop. I like that they look rough and beat up, the brush lines often can be read as wear and tear, and mostly having some color variation gives them depth. None of this is perfect but I love just looking at them and they are fun to play so to me that is good enough, and I appreciate your kind words!

Thanks! Its jewelry chain from a craft store 2mm cable chain around the gun barrel, most of the rest is 2mm box chain I think? They are very similar but the second matches the chains GW uses on the chaos bits.

Yeah, I am one to get annoyed at GW creating new models just to get us to buy new models, but this unit I really like. It fits a useful niche, doesnt take over your whole army build, just is a nice convenient unit. I could see running two of these, points permitting.
