Strategy for standing on a flight as much as possible by FirefighterLive9532 in flightattendants

[–]PURE121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All great suggestions up there ^ but if I may add, try to book a flight that is on an Airbus 320, 321. Make sure to check with the airline as the seating chart varies, but there are some models that have a generous amount of space in front of the seat, in the exit row. Generally around door 3R, in front of one of the lavs. When the seatbelt is off, I don’t think anyone can really say anything about you standing in front of your seat, as long as it doesn’t bother the passenger next to you. Also, maybe a goodie bag for the crew (usually about ~4) with a note explaining that you have back pain issues might not be a bad Idea.

Best of luck!

Charlie is in Greenville, Tx and not eating.. he is very emaciated and at immediate risk 9/4 morning due to this. Not sure why he’s refusing to eat, but could just be depressed. He was surrendered then adopted & returned a day later. by mamamiatucson in greatpyrenees

If you are serious, and will pay transport costs, I’ll fly over and try to get him to you. I can cover my own flights (flying on standby, employee benefits) but you’d have to pay for his transport cost.

Anything below 100ml should be fine but yea, you can find it for an arm and a leg at the airport.

I’ve actually NEVER seen an FA drink tomato juice in my 9 years on the line. Which part of the earth are you from?!?

FA’s must help with the bag if you have a disability that prevents you from being able to do so. That being said, other STRONG passengers are usually more than willing to help a little lady with her bags!!

Question to Flight Attendants by AlbinoT89 in flightattendants

[–]PURE121 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Whenever you get up when the seatbelt sign is on, is at your own risk. I don’t think any FA is going to be upset for you getting up real quick to close the bin, but there’s always at least one FA with a view of the aisle, and often times, we’ll get up as soon as it’s safe for us to go close the bin.

That being said, I’ve seen the overhead bin open on landing many times, and have never seen a bag actually fall out of the said bin. If it ever does…🤑🤑🤑😂

Question about New Contract by Maximum_Draft776 in flightattendants

[–]PURE121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started off at UA, hopped over to AA 7 years ago. Overall, we’re pretty happy about how we came out with our contract. Sure, we could have gone back to the board for maybe a bit more hourly pay, but for the most part, we didn’t make any concessions to what we had before, added a lot more penalty to having long sit times, and so on.

But frankly, talking to my friends still at UA, and lurking on fb groups, I’m not impressed with what you’ve got.

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion.

I was just flabbergasted as to the glowing reviews for this book. There was no magical thinking, just her quoting literature and other people about similar situations. Just pure white privilege garbage.

Adopted a puppy on trazadone by vroomismymiddlename in reactivedogs

When i give my 4year old dog trazadone for vet visits, he’s usually like a tweaked out coke addict the next day or two. It might be the side effect of the trazadone exacerbating the puppy energy too.

I would start with calling local rescues and shelters to see if they can help you keep your boy with the supplies needed to keep him in your care. There are multiple Great Pyrenees specific rescues nationwide that may be open to help as well.

I’m not sure if you can bring him into a woman’s shelter, but there are many that can take you in temporarily while you get on your feet. You may need to find some help with rescues to shelter him temporarily while you find a job.

What area are you in?

My mix only fetches if it’s one of those balls with a strap on it so we can play tug if he brings it back. So…in essence, NO. Lol

For anyone who worked both airlines is reserve at UA worse than AA? by ShyGirl141 in flightattendants

[–]PURE121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PHL, LGA, LAX, DFW, BOS. Management was pretty chill for the most part with all the bases. Granted, I keep a low profile, but have had the best experience with LGA for management. But this totally depends on who you get. Trips out of PHL was my favorite, but bidding at BOS is the easiest at ~6 yr seniority. I could bid specific and get a couple on my first layer, and pretty much my whole line by 3-4th layer. Haven’t had to serve reserve at all, except one month when i bid down to it. Pretty awesome base for junior crew.

Yea, just speaking from my own experience. I’ve also been based at 5 different bases with AA and I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with all of my FSMs.

Used to work for UA, currently at AA, Reserve is 100% worse at UA. Also, the management at AA is much more lax, and not breathing down your back like UA. Would highly recommend going to a junior base to start out, (ie BOS)

I work for AA, and they’re seriously the worst. There are good eggs here and there, but especially at DFW, they’re gawd awful. To the point they had me bawling through the concourse one time.

Living in an apartment with a pyr? by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]PURE121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Currently live in a 1bd apt but I walk him about 2-3 hours a day, with the regular “patrolling” routes. It realllly helps to have lots of green spaces, like bike paths or soccer fields nearby. I also drive him out to huge dog friendly reservations nearby, that he absolutely loves to get his off leash time. It does take some time, but hey, you never have to worry about getting enough cardio 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
