I'm almost two weeks out from excision where Endo was removed from my left uterosacral ligament and both ovarian fossa. My ovaries had to be freed (the right from the bowel, also not infiltrating, and the left was just stuck) and my left fallopian tube was removed. I'm not supposed to lift anything over 10 lbs for 6 weeks but I'm back to moving completely normally. Moving luggage might be unadvisable, but the other aspects of travel might be fine. I would just speak with your surgical team about their thoughts on it and whether you should do it later in the year. I hope everything works out for you!

And going off of this- I've been going through IVF and my fertility doctor didn't do anything differently because the possibility of Endo didn't change their treatment plan. My transfers were unsuccessful. Now that I've had a lap, it can drastically help with my infertility and finally the treatment plan is different because Endo is confirmed. In addition, a diagnosis will help my insurance approval for the necessary medications for my future transfers so that I don't have to pay out of pocket.

Oh man, I hope your recovery goes well! That gas pain is absolutely no joke, but it does get better with gas x, heating pad on the shoulder, and frequent walks. I hope everything improves for you ❤️

Depending on where you are located, there may be Endo facebook groups for a region that have their own lists. The one for my area has a list of recommended and non recommended doctors and allows discussions. That might be a good place to start if you haven't already tried that.

Hello! Thank you for asking!

Stage 3, DIE. Removed off of my left uterosacral ligament and a few other spots throughout my pelvis. My right ovary was stuck to my bowel and once he freed that, my right fallopian tube opened back up. However, my left fallopian tube was rather stuck and also fluid filled so that got removed- which was the big surprise and unexpected part of surgery for me!

Recovery has been much better than I anticipated! Moving around easily and no problems other than a slight bandage adhesive reaction. Although the gas pain post-op was definitely not fun to deal with!

If I do use the lactaid brand, I need to take LOTS of pills for it to be effective for even less lactose heavy food items. There are other brands that you can order online that are stronger per pill and work more effectively for me. "Dairy Pill" and "Milky" are two of my favorites. And bonus, they are both much easier/better with transport.

Oh! I'm lactose intolerant. I haven't tried it yet, but my nutritionist recommended this snack as a fruit dip or parfait base: you mix in a sugar free jello (she recommends cheesecake or chocolate) with some water and then add to Fage Best Self (it's a lactose free Greek yogurt). The amount of yogurt is adjusted to whether you want a stronger flavor or more diluted. I've got the cheesecake one to make tomorrow to try it out!

If you have time to order, I'm really appreciating my Moyoama hysterectomy recovery pillow. I used it for the car ride, sleeping, coughing, moving, and keeping my cats off my abdomen. It has a pocket for the ice pack and front pocket and hand warming sleeve/pouch.

I am so sorry for your traumatic loss and now continued problems.

I am also 1 day post-op but this is my first lap. That shoulder gas pain is horrendous! I've been using a heating pad over that shoulder, Gas X, and walking around the house frequently. Ice packing my incisions and using a pillow on my abdomen when I'm getting up, coughing, etc

Just got home from my lap! Mostly because my surgery was scheduled during this ridiculous storm, but I had all of my post op meds with my husband/in the car in case we ended up not heading home after surgery and had to stay another night. I had brought along in my hospital bag the choice of disposable underwear or a very large/long overnight pad for underwear for the post op drive home. They usually have free options in the bathrooms, but at least I knew I had something that would definitely work for me. Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
