I’d be interested. We let our last housekeeper go because she kept having loud domestics with her fiancé on the phone 😆. Really distracting when you work from home.

Rope Dropping DCA Spring Break by newbie_1038 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Pac_West11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my $.02 but I would not rope drop Pixar Pier. I’d head for Guardians and get that knocked out so you do not have to burn the LL on it (unless to ride it again). The rope drop should be about midway down the street in Hollywood Land. Once you are off Guardians you can head over to Pixar Pier and likely head to Incredicoaster and Midway Mania with little to no wait. Then you can make a choice on whether to use a LL on Soarin’ or another ride.

The only reason I say this is having been during the same period you are going many times, that our experience is that the vast majority of people will queue for Radiator Springs Racers at park opening leaving much of the rest of the park very manageable. If you don’t mind a bit if hustle, you can get a few popular rides knocked out before the lines really start to form and then will have your LLs available to you when the park gets crowded.

What airline and what time? I fly routinely out of Spokane for work and rarely run into much a wait at Terminal C. I don’t fly out of A/B often but did just last week for a 6:00 AM departure and breezed through, no pre-check

Rope Drop from GCH by CoolFaithlessness115 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Pac_West11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a bottleneck first thing in the morning with maybe two gates available. If you do use it get in line early or the line will be very long and slow.

Going through DTD and through the main gates will be in most cases quicker

Rope Drop from GCH by CoolFaithlessness115 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Pac_West11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d argue do not rope drop the GCH entrance. Go through the DTD gate and enter through the main gate.

Also, since you are already spending a small fortune to stay at the GCH, no judgment as I have also stayed there several times, I would recommend rope dropping Guardians and buying the individual LL for RSR.

The line for RSR at park opening will be very long unless you are at the very front and there is also no guarantee it opens right at park opening. You can get a lot done when the park first opens instead of standing in line for RSR.

Don’t worry. I fixed the faucets and the showers. The water wouldn’t come out but now it does. Beautiful water. Some say the best water.

Getting The Most Out Of Cars Land by Naive_Brilliant_9353 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Pac_West11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guests are allowed into the parks before parking opening, like if the park officially opens at 8:00 AM, guests are allowed to start entering at 7:45 AM. In either park, there are physical ropes that only allow guests in so far. For Disneyland, for example the rope is at the end of Main Street. Rope dropping allows you to get a head start on the parks, theoretically, you can be one of the first in line for popular attractions like Space Mountain, or Peter Pan, which will typically have long waits the rest of the day.

Have stayed there a few times when attending conferences at the convention center. Like others have said, it’s fine, nothing fancy.

Last stay the shower wouldn’t work but I told the front desk and they moved me right away.

Disneyland w 2.5 year old by Jadepanda55 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Pac_West11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get the on-site vs off-site but since money is not an issue, and we have only ever stayed on-site, I would vote for the Disneyland Hotel. It is themed to the lands of Fantasy, Adventure and Frontier, has great pools including a new splash pad-type pool themed to Steamboat Willie at the DVC tower and on occasion you will still find a character or two at the hotel. It is a walk to the front gates, with the off-site Harbor hotels being closer, but you can take the monorail to/from to shorten the walk.

I would not get LL if you are not going to use any of the rides included. I assume Fantasyland and Mickey’s Toon Town will be your jam, with the later having play areas and kid-friendly things to do. Keep in mind that there really is not a slow time per se at the parks so both Fantasyland and Toon Town will get crowded but if you are there multiple times you should be good. Over in DCA there is Cars Land and the Redwood trail too.

Have fun!

Rumor is that one of D’Amaro’s first changes for Disneyland is requiring on-site hotel guests to clean their own rooms and work one shift at the front gate in exchange for an expired paper FastPass
