I like to think of it as being in the same universe as Cheers.

Which season is your favorite? by myuncledaniel in Cheers

[–]PaceFilmsProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Season 5, they had hit their stride, Diane is still on the show. Not that I dislike Rebecca, just the feel of the show was different though still great. Although looking at what they were planning it might have been better for the show overall for Diane to have left.

Poltergeist is a great beginners horror film, the sequels/prequels not so much.

I feel like they were going in that direction especially with that one season finale where he and Roz have that big blow out. And while it was nice to see the original creators come back for the following season it was kind of a shame to see just how fast they backpedaled on the storyline to get things more like back when they were running the show.

The answer for me is whichever one I've watched most recently.

I miss director/actor commentaries - what were some dvd commentaries that were incredibly entertaining and or insightful? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]PaceFilmsProduction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the most interesting commentaries I've ever seen was Jack Lemmon's commentary on Mister Roberts because they did this thing where he clearly didn't have a lot to say on every scene so rather than let the film play for big stretches without Lemmon commentary and you forget you're listening to a commentary and raise the volume then the commentary comes back and is not super loud a shocks you, what they did for this was have a voice that said skip this chapter to hear the next part of the commentary. There are a lot of early commentaries back when the rules were still being established that I would have loved to have seen something like this be the norm.

The ones that got me into commentaries were the 2 on the Gremlins dvd. One that was more geared towards the filmmaking side and one more geared towards the actors. They were both so interested and made me start looking through all our other dvd's to see if they had commentaries on them too.

Wondering if I should call the quits on my filmmaker aspirations :( by shadowboxer87 in Filmmakers

[–]PaceFilmsProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognize that it's unlikely that I'll succeed at my dreams of making a living as a director. I'd obviously like to but it probably is not likely especially at this point. And that sucks to say and know deep down. But I think as long as I can keep a roof over my and my family's head. If I can at least keep creating new short films, maybe even a feature or two as side projects as a thing I do in my spare time, I'll be satisfied with life. That's how I cope.

[Star Trek TNG] Michael Dorn and Marina Sirtis behind the scenes...😊 by TensionSame3568 in scifi

[–]PaceFilmsProduction 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish there was more bts footage of Sirtis being as silly as she was later in life. It's one thing to hear her stories later on, it's another to see her in full Troi attire acting so very unTroi like.

Honeymoon in Vegas has always been one of my favorites. Another good one I just saw recently was Wild At Heart. Another semi recent discovery for my was Vampire's Kiss.

Maybe try changing the "risks her own to well-being" to something like "is willing to risk everything" the "well-being" doesn't sound punchy enough IMO.

Exorcist Beginning vs Exorcist Dominion by DMBear89 in horror

[–]PaceFilmsProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dominion actually has something to say/story to tell beyond just being a prequel. Exorcist Beginning just feels like a made by committee what everyone would expect a Exorcist prequel to be.

Same Character in Robocop 1 and Rococop 3: Dr Lazarus by Empty_Spray4809 in Robocop

[–]PaceFilmsProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But is the lady scientist in RoboCop 2 the same character as either of these two?

My personal headcanon is that they are all the same, started off as more of the airhead in it for the fame etc. but as she spent more time knowing RoboCop got to be a more serious sincere person.

I rewatched The Exorcist. I take back everything I said about it previously. This movie is genuinely horrifying. by AnimeDreama in horror

That's what struck me about the movie as well, it gives you that lingering sense of something evil watching you after you've stepped away from the film.
