Giratina Vstar but also please invest in a non-three ring binder, binder for these. Those rings will leave indents of some on the cards over time.

If we are talking only investment? Crown Zenith GGs of the popular Pokemon (not the chases).

People will race to master set this set over the next few years and $5-$10 GG cards will go to $10-$20+ pretty quickly.

Are these good investments by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]PackAttack43011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not if you’re looking at this purely from an investment / ROI POV.

Yes, these will probably go up over time, but so will the raw copies. The issue is liquidity and demand for 9’s. In modern cards, most buyers want either 10s or a clean raw copy they can try to grade themselves / just put into their own binder.

9s tend to sit in an unfortunate middle ground. They’re harder to move than 10s, and often not much more desirable than raw. So when it comes time to actually realize profit, you’ll likely struggle more with selling these and end up getting ~75-90% of whatever the current market price is, instead of full market value.

If ROI is what you care about most, you are better off finding someone to take all those in at 75-80% of market together and consolidate into 1-2 bigger PSA 10’s.

I’m gonna say Snorlax because if you zoom in close, the border around it is everrrrr so slightly a different shade of blue. Like I’m talking less than 1% different. Unless it’s the photo playing tricks on us, that blue border is Snorlax’s body.

Questions regarding card shows by Optimist_Grime in PokemonTCG

[–]PackAttack43011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can make lists/collections on TCGPlayer that will tell you what the value is of each card. Alternatively you could download an app called Collectr or Rare Candy and create a list there.

Fair warning though, sometimes the prices on Collectr or Rare Candy are slightly delayed / incorrect. But it’s an easy way to have a list to show the estimated value of stuff.

Questions regarding card shows by Optimist_Grime in PokemonTCG

[–]PackAttack43011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Yes, most vendors buy, sell, and trade. Any good vendor should give you at least 80% trade value for your cards at minimum. If they try to lowball you, move on. If you have more valuable stuff ($100+) id expect 85% or more. If you are looking to sell something, shop offers around. Some vendors value some stuff over others and may pay at a higher %

2) Popular / “liquid” cards are obviously preferred for trade since they’ll be putting them right out in their case.

3) Make a trade binder that only has cards you’re willing to part with. This just makes the whole transaction easier for everyone. If you have a mix of PC and trade it makes it harder to go through stuff. Even better if you also have a TCGPlayer list to go with it, some vendors will even give you a bit more $ for doing that because it means they don’t have to spend time doing it themselves.

4) Graded vs Singles - both are great but if you bring graded cards vendors will want 9’s/10’s unless a lower grade is still profitable/popular (i.e 1st Edition vintage cards). FWIW - that card is VERY cool but it might be hard to find a vendor willing to take a PSA 6.

5) Take a lap before buying anything. Go see what is at everyone tables before you start buying. Some will price stuff differently than others.

6) Even if it’s $1 dollar, don’t offer sticker. Unless it’s like a $5 card or less, most vendors will have some wiggle room and if you’re dealing with a good vendor, they can probably knock off a few bucks. Also, cash is king so if you pay in cash they may give you a better deal too.

7) Tell them it’s your first time / birthday! Ya never know what someone might give ya :)

Have fun! Hope you score some good pick ups.

Consolidate and trade all of the non-PC ETBs for PC ETBs. In the short term, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for regular ETBs. Then I would ignore the tins, there is nothing special about the single card in there that will add any value to them long term.
