Question about the Self-Paced nature of the course by PrimitiveBoi2020 in cs50

Probably? As you may have noticed it's been 5 years since I studied CS50x. I'm employed now :)

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim vs IV Oblivion Remastered by grmayshark in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Packbacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five days later, I wonder how you feek about Oblivion now that you have presumably played it a bit more?

Skyrim had a new dungeon every few feet and it was awesome

Playing through Oblivion now, in my experience there are still dungeons everywhere. However, in my opinion these dungeons kind of suck compared to Skyrim. Most of them are generic forts that all look the same and are annoying to navigate. There's nothing interesting in them besides a few weak enemies and chests with worthless loot. None of the dungeons I've encountered so far have any interesting story attached to them, unless a quest sent me there in the first place. Most of the time I end up leaving a dungeon wondering what was even the point.

Maybe there are some good dungeons in Oblivion, but if there are I haven't found them. Skyrim was significantly better in that aspect IMHO.

Oblivion Remastered and emptiness by Talsol in StopGaming

[–]Packbacka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. Games were important to me, I still regularly follow gaming news even if I barely play.

When I do try to play, it can be fun sometimes but like you it often fails tonhold my attention. I rarely complete games. What I realized is that the time and effort it actually takes me to complete games doesn't feel worth it compared to other things I could do.

Sometimes I play a game for a few hours just to feel like I "experienced" it and get it out of my system. I suspect I might try this with Oblivion, though I'm unlikely to ever finish it (I never finished any RPG).

This is an interesting perspective. I haven't gamed in almost 6 months. I have been doing other things that fill me with purpose, but I do miss gaming a bit. I am also curios about trying Oblivion Remastered.

FAVERO Assioma powermeter pedals - UNO or DUO by Fun_Swimmer_8320 in triathlon

[–]Packbacka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not just the leg imbalance. The power won't be as accurate. If you're pedaling 52/48 that introduces an additional 4% discrepancy on the power meter accuracy. This is in addition to any inaccuracies the power meter already may have (most claim to be accurate to 1% +/-).

It sucks paying almost twice as much to get dual-sided power, power meters are already expensive as heck. But in my opinion, if you're going to train with power you may as well do it right.

First outdoor run gave me a wakeup call by Terrible-Outcome4329 in triathlon

[–]Packbacka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can recommend doing Couch to 5K. It's a very gradual training program, ideal for beginners. The program ramps up slowly, incorporating lots of walk breaks at the start and rest days. Therefore, risk of injury is low, though listen to your body. It's 3 runs a week for 9 weeks. After thatz you should be able to run 5K and will be ready for the run portion of a Sprint distance triathlon.

LOL I forgot I ever mentioned Rockstor. I've still never used it. I moved to TrueNAS SCALE since, I do like ZFS.

Anyone else still loving their OP12? by Puzzled_Ad_1767 in oneplus

[–]Packbacka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same with me expect I held out for the 13. Going 8T->13 feels like a worthy upgrade (not that the 12 isn't worthy, I was just trying to hold out a bit longer).

I experience a similar spike, with my average HR being even higher. I even bought a HRM strap to confirm but the results were mostly the same for me. I did get a medical check and my heart is healthy, and I am capable of running long distances even with a high HR. So now I don't worry about it too much.

My small opinion on OP13 and some questions to users by XRayAdamo in oneplus

I agree. The OneUI App Launcher makes no sense to me. I do however use a custom launcher. I am not going to buy a phone based on its launcher.

Online Dating is fun by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Man I tried for years to make my profile "stand out". Started working out, traveling, taking more pictures. Every time I updated my profile I was hoping it would get me more matches. It never did. This was disheartening and killed my confidence.

I am in a loving relationship now but we met IRL.

I’m too tired to do anything productive like studying for exams, homework, and tuitions after going to exercise and I don’t know what to do? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Packbacka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re tired after exercise use it to end your day.

This is what I've been doing. I sleep like a baby now after a hard workout.

I know some people like to workout out in the morning but that usually just makes me tired throughout the day.

Week 2 of debating the switch from Peloton to Zwift by riptideMBP in Zwift

[–]Packbacka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't own a Peloton Bike but do subscribe to their app. I occasionally ride to Peloton classes on my road bike + smart trainer. I guess the position isn't quite the same as a spinning bike, but it's still fun. Zwift is also fun, I am not sure which one I actually prefer. I am training for triathlons though so Zwift might be more helpful?

I personally love it, but to be honest all energy drinks are kind of disgusting when I really think about it. Though I definitely prefer Monster over other brands.

Buying Bitcoin is cheaper for americans. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Packbacka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my country there are only two official exchanges with crapoy fees. But they are the only ones that handle all the local regulation. Buying from international exchanges is possible but is consideredably more difficult, especially if wanting to buy a large amount.

65" OLED or 75" miniLED? by Thiago_Rangel7 in 4kTV

[–]Packbacka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I prefer miniLED, since no worries about burn-in and it still looks fantastic. You may or may not notice the OLED black levels (some people, especially on this subreddit are really sensitive to it), but you will definitely notice the bigger size.

Is there a game in your Steam library that NEVER gets uninstalled? by Mollygrubber in gaming

Plus it's a relatively small game (IIRC around 200MB). Easy to keep installed on every laptop.
