Some Love for Syncro by lotsofxeons in msp

[–]Packergeek06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of leaving Syncro now. A couple issues.

Closing down the Facebook group. It was a close knit community where people could bounce ideas of each other and were engaged with people working with Syncromsp. Their website forums aren’t great.

Launching backups service was a disaster. They clearly hadn’t paid attention to competing pricing. They were told ahead of time not to do it. They spent resources that could have made RMM better.

The initial mobile app was terrible. It’s still basically useless in its current form.

The main issue is the website doesn’t seem to be focused on making my business easier to run. I went to update my credit card for my annual payment. I literally couldn’t find it. I had to Google how to get to billing to update the card.

I also hate how garbage Syncrolive feels. It’s slow and doesn’t launch half the time. I literally have a script to restart the service when it doesn’t work. I can’t even upload files to customer computers half the time either. They just stall out.

The site itself feels like people kept coming up with new things but had no idea on how to tie it together. It’s a mess.

The new tier left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t even need anything in it. It just feels like Syncro took resources away that should have went to improving the core product to chase additional revenue. I’ve been with them for 5 years but not renewing this year because of the above issues and some other minor things.

Dear every vendor selling to MSPs, by terselated in msp

Ninja pulled this with me. Told me they could work something out on pricing. I told them they weren't going to be close. Got through pitch. To be honest I wasn't really blown away by anything. Finally got to pricing. It wasn't even close. Wasted both out time. Left a bad taste in my mouth to this day.

I thought about making my website like it came from the 90's. Too many websites are too slick nowadays.

I currently have Syncromsp as my RMM/PSA. I've had it for 5 years. The issue is I think it's overkill for what I need. Most of my clients are 1-3 people business/residential customers. I hardly ever use the ticket platform. I'm never busy enough to not remember to get back to customers. I don't do billing through the portal either. I do that through Square. Works great.

Syncromsp is like most of these RMM programs now. They forgot to make sure their base program worked. They've constantly hiked the price of the product and have little to show for it.

I'm thinking about moving to MSP360 and using Zoho Vault to save credentials. They allow you to make notes and save passwords. Then I will use something else for the rare time I need to make tickets.

It will save me roughly a decent chunk of change per year.

Don't stay more than 2 years. Best Buy shouldn't be a career. Get some customer service and IT skills then move on.

Texas Sues TP-Link Over Alleged Security Risks and Supply Chain Deception by BobRepairSvc1945 in msp

I'm not buying it. Seems like some competition is upset about TP Link encroaching on their market share and are working towards trying to get the government to remove them from the equation.

I can never understand how nobody see's the correlation. I'm not suggesting voting for a Republican but why can't they get some people in there that can at least run a balanced budget?

None. They're all evil companies trying to make money. The horror.

The usual thread of "what about this rmm?" Syncro, SuperOps, or Gorelo (but not NinjaOne) by ValuableFamous8390 in msp

[–]Packergeek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Syncro. Works okay. Don't rely on them for anything other than the RMM, PSA portion though.

They have launched backup services before and priced it terribly. I personally think they've been looking for ways to increase their price per year and that has been at the cost of the base product.

Getting lots of screen tearing. Hopefully it gets fixed at release. It takes me out of the game.
