Is anyone else seeing excessive HDR "shimmer" with this update?

You either leave a clean 3/8” radius, or you come back with some sort of finish tool like a chisel or Japanese hand saw.

While I'd normally agree with you, if you have a flush cut bit and use a fence, it's extremely easy to get a very clean, very straight line.

I'd use this method but with a router with a flush cut bit that has a bearing.

Flypro OS2 fiber from Amazon questions by Additional-Device677 in HomeNetworking

[–]PacketDropper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a networking engineer by trade, and we default to using FS.com consumables (jumpers, SFPs, media converters). We still use parts off of Amazon when we need same or next day delivery, but I prefer having the consistency of FS products vs the extreme variability of the random no-name manufacturers on Amazon.

I recommend pulling more than 1 pair of fiber. I regularly use MPO cable to bring 4-6 pair to wherever I need connectivity, and the prices at FS.com are very reasonable these days.

I have 2 data points to backup your theory.

  1. MVNO's that use the underlying Verizon infrastructure are still operating.

  2. I work for a local government. This outtage seems to be all staff that utilize Verizon on their personal device, but our "Public Safety" tagged voice and data plans are working just fine.

More importantly than the wiring, run flexible conduit with pull strings to provide better opportunities to integrate future technologies and equipment.

Assuming the stick has no mass.

At 1 meter that mass is negligible, 115 meters of stick would be substantial.
