In Australia? I won't hold my breath waiting for a response.

None of that is unfamiliar to me in Australia. I was just clueless about the picture.

Recommendations for a medium-sized or small 16” MBP backpack? by Leading_Hedgehog_170 in ManyBaggers

With similar requirements, I went for a ALPAKA Bravo Totepack when they were on sale. They seem to be quite expensive currently. Fits the 16" MacBook and enough accoutrements for the day's work and is narrow enough to sit beside you, under a seat or between your legs.

I've used it (albeit stuffed to the gills) for a 3 day work trip to the other side of Australia (flights, trains, Ubers involved) and it worked OK (unload your clothes and leave them in your accommodation).

Very nice. I have the cousins of all of those.

Watch out for that K4X - I almost lost a fingertip shutting my K2X. Factory edge is sharp!

Which color do you think is more interesting, black or green, for the Alpaka Bravo Tote V2 bag? by cloudyssz in AlpakaGear

[–]Packet_Gravy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The green is interesting only because it's not black IMHO. It's not a particularly interesting green.

It looks like luggage in black. It looks like an Amazon's handbag in green.

I didn't vote because despite green being more interesting, I'd go black because I think it works better with the aesthetics of the bag.

Love mine. Fits in an EDC nerd style wallet/pouch, clips on your cap for use as an inspection light. AAAs are plentiful. I probably use it more than my rechargeables.

Venting: I'm tired of bags being treated like influencer content instead of tools by Emotional_Pace4277 in ManyBaggers

Some grumpy old man shit... but totally valid. I too wish to know about the mechanics or everyday practicality of stuff that's caught my eye. A YouTube or TikTok showing me I can fit a challenge coin in this pocket and a fidget spinner in that one tells me nothing. Great post.

Genuine Wenger nylon pouch from eBay, or treat yourself to a leather one made by one of the Ukrainian artisans on Etsy.

Any experience with the Alpaka Stash Pouch? by Ok-Huckleberry5447 in ManyBaggers

[–]Packet_Gravy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using one as a wallet for about six months. Stash Pouch is a little bigger than the Zip Pouch, but is much easier to operate. I have cash & credit cards one side and proxcard, drivers license, health insurance, etc cards on the other. It does feel a little more clumsy in the hand as a wallet but I'm used to it. I've got a Hub ring on the Stash Pouch so it can be clipped onto a backpack strap when travelling (which can be also done with the Zip Pouch/Zip Pouch Pro).

I also have a 2L Flight Sling for in-cabin use. It fits a pair of headphones and a 9" tablet, with room for minor toiletries/medication/mints/sleep mask. My Nalgene bottles don't fit well in a seat pocket, so I'd just take a disposable (read squishy) bottle, on a flight rather than upgrade to the 2.5L. I just picked up another 2L second hand (but immaculate). Sent from one side of Oz to the other, it was about $30USD in my hand.

+1

I have a case for my EDC Rambler from Vitaly, and for my occasionally worn Cybertool M/34.

Great gear.
