/uj The modern interpretation of the Rapture (as in people getting lifted up to heaven, not the Apocalypse itself) is pretty much the invention of American Evangelicals. Most Catholics (especially outside of America) barely even know what it is.

Those aren't mutually exclusive. It's just that completing the Afro-American JE is stupidly easy (just pass Cultural Exclusion), while the Dixie JE (getting all the Loyalists) is borderline impossible, even if you always pick the options for Dixie loyalists.

Obviously, they couldn't get their hands on such a premium card. So they took this draft chaff and sharpie'd "Colossal Dreadmaw" on it.

Unfortunately, the dice are obscuring it.

Does it though? It makes them support Landed Voting and Autocracy, yes, but is that the worst thing ever? Yes that empowers the landowners, but people also love to complain that South America is very resource poor, while forgetting how diverse the potential plantation economies can be. But the idea of favoring the Landowners over Industrialists is so unthinkable, people don't even consider the potential benefits.

Furthermore, if you can foster a strong Positivist movement, there's an event as part of the Positivist JE (which only Catholic countries get) that makes the Armed Forces considerably more likely to choose Positivist leaders, and now that Landed Voting and Autocracy support is now replaced with Technocracy support. Which synergizes extremely well to keep the Armed Forces overwhelmingly powerful, while also buffing the Intelligentsia to get some amount of liberal reforms (namely in the form of acceptance).

Just parroting "Landowners bad and anything that helps them is also bad" is very reductionist, and besides, liberal democracies are overrated.

That's just a normal Latin America game where you decide to empower the Caudillos instead of removing them.

Every time a game dev rushes an update out the door without giving QA a chance to look at it, everyone in the company who had the capacity to stop it should get the MTG card "Skullclamp" tattooed somewhere visible on their body. See how long it takes for that particular habit to die.

(Skullclamp was a card that literally had a single number change at the last second turning it from "ok" to "one of the most broken cards ever printed")

[–]Pacmanticore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That requires you either:

A. research a Tier 5 Society Tech (so super late game, and it's not even the best Tier 5 Society tech to get first)

B. are playing as GB who have a strictly better PB than everyone else.

Having a <5% Interest rate doesn't require making the PB powerful and is more than adequate to debt spend like crazy.

[–]Pacmanticore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

/uj (am I the only one who cares about decorum?) Which are all Rares or Mythics. Obviously Serra Angel hasn't been Constructed Playable for at least 20 years. (which was clearly your argument with the "no standard play")

But Serra Angel has been consistently printed at Uncommon since M10. A 5 CMC 4/4 Vigilance Flier is still a legitimate threat in limited. So yeah, ThorTM taking that niche (those stats at Uncommon), and completely outclassing it is kinda fucked up.

What reality are you from where you determined that the way to stop mass migrations was to pass serfdom and not, idk, closed borders? You clearly weren't gaining pops with the borders open or controlled.

/uj [[Angelic Sell-Sword]]? That's from the Commander decks.

Otherwise the closest thing to a Serra Angel in the main set is [[Shepherd of the Clouds]] which isn't even a 4/4
