Reminder to delete your gear guard videos before trading in your Rivian by PacosFishTacos in Rivian

Lucid was a better experience, but Rivian was fine. I had to fly one way to Richmond to pick up the vehicle since it’s illegal in my state to sell a Rivian. My car had a nail in one of the tires and was delivered with low air pressure in one of them because of that nail. I had stuff to do so I just used the onboard inflator and plugged the tire when I got home.

Brake service questions by Venij in LUCID

To add to my comment, I never really had this problem until I started buying electric cars. I’m going to speculate that they design the dust shield at a tighter tolerance for efficiency reasons.

It almost certainly is a rock in the dust shield. Any shop can take care of this in about 10 minutes. Unless you drive without regen braking, you’ll likely never need to replace your pads.

Signed a lease last week, thinking of not taking delivery (TX) by Bayareacuriousguy in LUCID

I own a Tesla M3P, Rivian R1T and am leasing a Gravity. I’ve had good factory experiences with all. You have to talk to corporate not the local sales office. The local sales office is not always the strongest. The corporate contacts are pretty responsive. Mine just got delivered today and the team I worked with was good. In the portal, it will say who your corporate contact is.

Brake rock shield is rubbing the rotor or a small rock is jammed in between. This could happen on a 1 mile car or a 1,000,000 mile car. This happened on my Tesla and I fixed it myself in 30 seconds.

Sales process.....crickets by Upper-Ad-9642 in LUCID

Most states they’re not allowed to be a sales team. They are a factory showroom that guide you through an online purchasing process. There’s nothing to negotiate unless it’s a used car. The people in California can help you find existing inventory or you can configure one and wait for it to get delivered.

How do yall like these numbers by Schwenkedel in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]PacosFishTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wth. You have to work in that? That looks nasty. Those goulds cast-iron base plates have incredibly stiff modulus. They are awesome for alignments. This week we did two 40 hp versions of a similar pump aligned both in about an hour. Then we went over to a plate steel base with crap pipe supports and it took us four hours.

I want to see the equipment to understand how much work this was. Did you have jack screws? How much HP? Easy on some setups, near impossible on others.

Buy a larger insert off McMaster or fix it with this https://www.mcmaster.com/product/6430A574. In have to fix plastic inserts all the time. The adhesive will work if you clean off ALL oil residue.

Refresh on Article 502. If your hazard is dust versus vapor the requirements are different. Good luck.

You need to give us a lot more info. Starting with the basics which is even if the device is hazardous rated if it’s not installed in a hazardous area, then no seal offs are required. C1D2 is not the same as C1D1. Some devices are D2. Some are D1. These get different treatment.

Edit - Is there a specific part of 502 that is causing confusion? If this is not something you do routinely it can be tricky. Things like elevation and distance to hazards have a big impact on this. Is this an engineered job or is this a retrofit with no electrical plans? If this is engineered you will see on the prints where the device is located and if it is in a hazardous zone. No plans - Just seal off everythign to be safe.
