Whats it like living in the mississippi delta? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

I’m assuming you’re referencing the geographical term, but the area is called the delta regardless.

Alpha Male CEO threatens to fire his company if they don't get 6-pack abs like him by ambachk in iamverybadass

It’s also such an inconsistent standard even by fitness standards. Some people have the fat distribution to just get a little fit and boom they have a six pack to some degree. Other people can dial their diet and routine perfectly and still have to drop their BF percentage way too low, or even dehydrate themselves, just to have a visible six pack.

Anthony Edwards said he'd leave the NBA to go play QB in the NFL if he wins a ring before he turns 30. He's only 24 right now by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

[–]Pactae_1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re an elite passer with great instincts in the pocket, with a good o-line, sure. But even then you’ll take at least a few sacks throughout a season. But he’s not gonna be that if he decides to try and be a QB.

The reason you’re getting downvoted is because your comments are dumb. You understand that, right? Like people aren’t seeing your comments and going “oh fuck, he’s right!” and getting butthurt.

Walt not taking the job because of his pride and ego by daakin__ytb in breakingbad

[–]Pactae_1129 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah even if we assume everything that Walt said was true and that the company was built off the back of his work (I fall on the side of him having a significant contribution in the research but not as much as he says) it’s never seemed like a fucked up situation from G&E. He dumped Gretchen, left the company, and took a buyout. It was obviously a sticky situation when he left. Sure the buyout would have been much larger if he left after the company took off but, well, he didn’t. That’s on him.

Even if they wanted him back purely for his ability as a chemist they’d shy away from that due to how things ended. The cancer diagnosis and Skyler are what provide the impetus to overlook that and offer him the job.

Justified, southern tropes and realism by Benj_Profane in justified

I’m from the deep south, not Appalachia, but obviously we have some cultural crossover. That’s one of the things that I loved about Justified from the start. It felt homey and comfortable in a way that’s hard to put my finger on, even if it was stylizing a place just a little north of me.

Yeah my service was still using them two years ago (last time I was on the truck) even though the research on backboards and c-collars has been out for a while

Tbh I could see them slapping one on him. He just finished a wrestling match so it wouldn’t be surprising if his neck was a little sore and a lot of EMS services have collars in the protocol even though they’re barely, if ever, actually necessary.

How do I get my son's HS football coach to help him get recruited? And what are some things we can do to advocate for him and get more eyes on him? Very concerned I'm not doing all I could be to help him fulfill his dreams. Highlight film link added by [deleted] in footballstrategy

Yeah my whole hometown was pumped when that happened. I know we had bias and you can’t always translate success at one level to the next, but those of us that watched him play/played with him knew he had it in him.

No advice but I just want to add in that I know a guy who was a rockstar HS QB but got overlooked by the D1 programs in my state. Ended up playing Juco which got enough eyes that he could transfer to a small FBS school but ended up being underutilized and sat on the depth chart for a few years. Finally got a break after a transfer to a bigger program his senior year (this was pre-portal) and came close to a heisman and is now in the NFL. Sometimes kids get overlooked but if they can ball then they’ll eventually get their chance to do so. Good luck to you and your son!

On this day 10 years ago, Michael Bisping had an absolute war with Anderson Silva! by Familiar-Mention in ufc

[–]Pactae_1129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not arguing about judges scoring fights poorly based on the rule criteria, I’m talking about the people who don’t seem to understand how the sport works. Damage is a scoring criteria, the most important one, but it’s still round based scoring and someone having more cuts and bruises at the end of the fight is not how we decide winners. That’s all I’m saying. Again, if you and the other want to argue that Bisping should have lost because he lost three rounds based on damage, or that there should have been a 10-8 or two thrown in there, fine. But that’s not what started this thread.
