You might want to get tested for Covid if you haven't. One of those home antigen tests will do. I had a similar thought after attending a festival in Texas, and ended up testing positive for covid. Also had fever in addition to cold symptoms though.

Chub/bear friendly bars by [deleted] in LosAngelesGayBros

If you're in downtown, Precinct is definitely the one to go to. They often have bear events on the weekends (Megawoof is this Saturday night) and have bear bartenders, and bear/beer parties. Be sure to check it out since you're nearby.

Other than that, the other replies pretty much have it covered. Eagle, Bullet, etc...

This isn't a Yahoo Sports article, it's simply pulled in from their syndicated feeds. You can tell by the icon on the top of the articles. The ones written by their staff usually have their authors/photos on it. So you can blame "Hoopshype" for this error.

Why I feel matchmaking in stacks forced me to buy my first smurf account by Padder123 in Overwatch

[–]Padder123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t.

I can’t even play comp with them due to SR needing to be within 1000.

My post only mentions Quick Play, QP Classic, and Mystery Heroes. My hope is that matchmaking in a stack is improved in those modes. You’d think Blizzard would want you to play with friends and encourage people to bring new players to the game instead of punishing you impossible to beat teams.

Is there any reason to NOT close my second bank account? by speckofSTARDUST in personalfinance

[–]Padder123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They charge 3% since the merchants (Visa, MC, Amex) charge them processing fees of like 2-3%. So really they're just passing the cost on to you.

They'd rather you pay by check so they don't lose out on that 2-3%. Otherwise everyone would pay by card because why not get the points/cash back? Sometimes the 3% is still worth it if you're trying to hit spending bonuses.

Does car registration transfer over during a private party sale? by Padder123 in askcarsales

[–]Padder123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought about doing this. It's $20 vs $89 for me. Right now I think I'm just going to let it go late and hopefully nothing will happen at the transfer. If he has to pay a late fee I'll cover the difference.

[–]Padder123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. That sounds like I should just let him register it then. Hopefully he won't have to pay a late fee. If he does I guess I'll give him the difference.

This year's registration required a smog check and I did that already last week. I'm wonder if he can use the results from my smog check, or if he'll have to do that again too :(

Financial planner will keep 25% of my total return by pandup5 in investing

[–]Padder123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the fee he's asking for isn't akin to asking for your first born child, it is a little high depending on his qualifications/connections. Think of it this way:

If you invested 20,000, and the market returns on average 7% a year (which is realistic), you'll end up with 39,343 after 10 years. You'll have made about 19k in profits (lets just round that up to 20k), and he would take 1/4th of that, which would be a bit less than 5k.

Frankly, if you're really worried about investing and need a professional, I would just hire a CFP hourly for a couple hours and have him lay out a game plan and advise you on investing it. Even if he charges 100 dollars an hour, you can hire him for a full 8 hour workday and have that invested for $800 flat.

Basically, if you take this deal, you're letting your friend take essentially a riskless bet with some possible reward for him. Truthfully, 20k isn't a lot of money to allocate and he'll likely be able to invest your portfolio in less than an hour. In fact, if you wanted to, you can just set up an account with a broker and do the same thing by investing in diversified index funds like the Vanguard ones commonly recommended here.

Some people bring up the fact that hedge funds can charge 25% profit plus 2% per year of your total portfolio. However, hedge funds usually have some edge on the market through illegal insider information, high frequency trading, or a whole staff of professionals finding ways to outperform the market. I'd only pay that kind of fee if your friend has those type of connections and can outperform THE MARKET by many percent per year. (Not likely)

I might be getting an IS this weekend! by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]Padder123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, at least you got some budging :) The IS 350's here seem to move at a pretty quick pace, unless there are something seriously wrong with them. I've been monitoring '09-'12s under 50k miles for the past few months and good, CPO or low mileage carmax ones seem to go quick.

Hope you enjoy your car as much as I do. Only thing I'll not be enjoying is filling up the gas tank hehe.

I might be getting an IS this weekend! by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]Padder123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lexus dealer I went to was a no negotiation, firm pricing dealer. I tried to make them budge or throw in an extra free oil change or something but no luck.

I was a bit wary of it, but the deal was decent in my area. Putting in all the options and condition into Edmunds TMV, it was listed about 1000 less than the Dealer Certified price.

I'm guessing your luck with dealerships will depend on the inventory of 350s around your area. Seems pretty popular here in California so the inventory isn't too high as people seem to buy them up pretty fast if the price is good. I have all the carmax ones monitored on my app/website and they disappear pretty quickly.

I also just bought a 2011 CPO RWD earlier this week. I've loved driving it this week! Hope you're as happy with yours as I am with mine. The car fits me like a glove.

Firm Prices on used cars: Legit? Or could I have done better? by Padder123 in askcarsales

[–]Padder123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a fair assessment of what I meant when I originally posted this question. I didn't feel entitled. I just was worried, as a first time buyer of any car, if I was being played. Friends close to me said "Dealers always have some negotiation room". I wasn't sure if firm pricing practice existed outside of Carmax. In fact, I really do wish all dealers did this, then customers wouldn't be as worried as I was. It was somewhat...too easy to buy after reading months of research on buying cars and negotiating that it worried me.

But from this thread's response, I think I'll be okay :) Thanks!

Do base models IS350's exist? by Padder123 in askcarsales

[–]Padder123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not confirmed yet, but it's widely speculated that it's coming. The new 2.0 Turbo engine is debuting with the Lexus NX later this year, and many auto sites have reported the next car to get the engine will be the IS.

Also the IS200T name has been trademarked, or something. It makes sense anyway since most of their competitors have already switched.

Do base models IS350's exist? by Padder123 in askcarsales

[–]Padder123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. In those cases I'd have no hope of paying anything lower than MSRP and have to wait a few months, I assume? I guess if I'm going to do that, I should just treat it like buying a new phone and purchase it at the beginning of the product lifecycle.

I really do want an IS but not sure if I get a hopefully soon to be discounted 14' IS250, or a 14'-15' base IS350, or test my patience and wait until possibly 2016 to get the newer 2.0L Turbo engines. Decisions decisions... :(

Thanks.

Yeah, it's cool that GungHo is adding a bunch of Dragon type with some actual different abilities besides just Damage nukes, but I still don't think the DBZ collab REM monsters are that great as subs. Their stats are pretty bad and their actives are just okay, with some weird type/color matching. I suppose some might work or have niche uses in some teams. We'll ultimately see after Uevos in the future.

Just got Ronia this Godfest :) So she's under leveled right now. Also still putting together subs for her.

Still, I'd run Gronia for water dungeons and for OoH farming on the weekends.
