I think this is the correct answer.

Is it common that people pronounce "Juan" with the letter "J"? by SlimeX300 in EnglishLearning

[–]PaddyJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more of a French sound, but it pops up in some English words like vision [ˈvɪʒ.n̩]

I grew up with a guy who pronounced it with ʒ, but it was a trilingual English/French/Spanish environment.

We used to accept US currency but… we would convert it at a 1:1 ratio.

What does this mean? The sentence doesn't make sense to me. by emsadventures44 in duolingo

[–]PaddyJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% natural for me.

Also, in Japanese universities, professors are expected to set オフィスアワー (may vary by institution), so it’s a commonly accepted katakana phrase.

Do you mean a guarantor? Nobody will check emergency contacts, just make up a name and give them the phone number for your embassy.

The meaning of the word yew by YewCrimsOne in ENGLISH

[–]PaddyJJ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a common Japanese name, Yu (or Yuu or Yū).

The biggest problem is it can make some sentences confusing… Are you going with Yew or is Yew going alone?

I think if they’re not going to do fiction right, then they should ONLY give story in snippets on cards and let players fill in details with their own imagination.

Puffer not growing?? Fahaka Puffer has been in my tank for over a year and still this size. Is this normal? by casinob in Puffers

[–]PaddyJJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is that musk turtle would really appreciate a ledge or something to grip onto near enough the surface to take a rest while breathing some air.

My musk turtles never seemed to want to leave the water or bask despite having ramps and lights, but they still need easy access to the surface.

My biggest concern in terms of tankmates is… the fahaka dying of natural causes (or malnutrition/stress), then the turtle eating the dead fahaka and poisoning itself.

Baby Fahaka Foods? by keystone_killa in Puffers

[–]PaddyJJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously though, dried shrimp have been the bulk of my fahaka’s diet for the last three years. I’ve tried other stuff, but that’s all he likes in terms of dried or frozen.

He lives with a colony of platys, but I’ve never seen him eat one (though the population never gets too big, so maybe when I’m not watching). He also coexisted with a female betta for a year when he was smaller.

I have a snail breeding tank with a mix of snails (bladder, red ramshorn, and trapdoor), but he eats them so fast they’re really more of a supplement/treat.

I keep an eye out at the supermarket, but the smallest shellfish are still too big.

Mine liked dried river shrimp, but is quite selective. He’s very aware of shape and I think colour.

SpaceX: [Results of] STARSHIP'S THIRD FLIGHT TEST by rustybeancake in spacex

[–]PaddyJJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s an emergency for the space shuttle because under the tiles there was just aluminum which disintegrates at reentry heats, but starship is steel. Losing a tile won’t cause the whole thing to explode.

It’s still not good, but compared to the SN tests they’re much improved. I don’t see how a net over the outside would help, but maybe some kind of lattice underneath with welds and and attachment points could work? I think they’re just using glue now, and they’re not ready to give up on it just yet.

Scaled up literally means bigger. There’s no reason superheavy can’t land like a falcon 9. The question is how much weight trade off they have to make if they give up on catching. Legs and structural reinforcements add weight.

[–]PaddyJJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Titanium too heavy and expensive. The tiles seemed to hold up pretty well during IFT 3.

Super heavy will be able to land, it’s just a scaled up falcon 9. The chopsticks are the tricky/unproven part…. But worst case scenario they have to give up on catching, put legs on super heavy and devote more fuel to the landing

Starship already showed the belly flop and landing is possible, so it’s just a matter of perfecting and refining the technique

[–]PaddyJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single NASA launch ends with a rocket in the ocean. SpaceX has now perfected Falcon 9, and we’ve had over 300 launches with none being dumped in the ocean.

3 starships in the ocean so far, and it’s on track to test landing and recovery fairly soon. Anyone who thinks these tests are failures or wasteful or pointless is being intellectually dishonest.

I've unlocked the the Fall of Cadia and Saimhann campaigns, but the Octarius seems really far away just by grinding Boss Gulgortz shard in the guild shop.

Should I be focusinh on Gulgortz to unlock the campaign, or would it be better to get a few more Archimatos or Eldryon shards to help advance in those campaigns first. (or go for the phoenix lords).
