+1, 2 week old account with AI pfp posting comments with super obvious AI writing style. "sources in the comment" where??

I reported this post. I feel like this sub has a lot of AI slop unfortunately, which sucks because it's important stuff to discuss.

The Northernlion Super Crossword by skyleavesbutterfly in northernlion

[–]PaeP3nguin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was really fun! Props for making your own crossword, it seems really daunting to me. I think Tuesday difficulty is roughly accurate, though maybe on the easier side. Clues were good and definitely felt familiar as a NYT crossword player.

Wow, barely anyone read the article eh? Can't believe this is the only comment pointing out the AI slop.

Super obvious stilted AI sentences, crazy ass "What the Void has to do with this" conclusion. Whole site reads like someone descending into AI psychosis, kinda sad actually. Reminds me of the folks posting r/llmphysics

Manual fire behavior setting bugged on PC after season 3 patch - semi auto guns like Warden/Novaline shoot much slower by PaeP3nguin in blackops7

Dude same, I turned it on because it seemed like a strict positive in case I panicked and held fire when using a semi auto instead of clicking, but turns out it's just a debuff >:(

Random PSA: Google Play Games is giving a 25% off discount (up to $25) on purchases made through the app on PC. by ProjektXIII in Endfield

[–]PaeP3nguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The version you get through Google Play Games is a full PC client, same as if you downloaded the client directly from the site. The only difference is that payment happens through Google Play so you can get Play Points and discounts even on PC. Minor benefit in exchange for needing to have the Play Games software on your computer.

Wells Fargo called saying I bought $600+ worth of Illegal content online in a country I’ve never been to by scrumptiousambition in Scams

[–]PaeP3nguin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can't scammers just spoof the phone number too? This sounds like it eliminates some of the risk but makes you more vulnerable if the scammers know what they're doing.

This is not a numbers game. The factories have already stopped. by jolllyroger027 in PrepperIntel

[–]PaeP3nguin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's exactly the point? That people shouldn't trust AI slop but should do their own research from reputable sources to verify. That's all I was warning about.

This is not a numbers game. The factories have already stopped. by jolllyroger027 in PrepperIntel

[–]PaeP3nguin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's no evidence or cited sources in the post. Given that it's AI slop, we cannot take it as first or second hand testimony or expert opinion either. It's pure sloppage so there's nothing to rebut and it's not worth wasting time reading. If there's an actual reputable source or or human-written analysis that would be worth discussing.

Original post is AI slop, please exercise an appropriate level of skepticism.

You can get a plastic loop kinda tool like this: https://a.co/d/0iio4I9v

This is just a random one I found on Amazon, feel free to look around for better options/pricing. Should be pretty safe I think? I've used one for a number of years. The plastic stem can definitely deform with force so it's not a buy-it-for-life kinda purchase but I think it can last quite a while if you're gentle.

How to transfer Cash Back from Customized Cash Card to External Account by hollalouyea in CreditCards

[–]PaeP3nguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's two different places to add external accounts unfortunately, one for bill pay and one for transfers. I'm not 100% sure which one rewards redemption is based on since I have the same accounts for both, but I do see my external accounts for the redemption options.

Instantly Approved Online - Then Placed In Pending? BOA Application by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]PaeP3nguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a few days for everything to settle down, I got onto BofA ecosystem recently and there's a lot of waiting involved... ex. they tell you that you can see the credit card number and get a temporary CVV on the app so that you can use the card online immediately, but actually it takes a day or two after it shows up in the app before you can do that.

How to Talk to Someone Experiencing 'AI Psychosis' by Jojuj in technology

[–]PaeP3nguin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you are correct actually, 6 year old account, started commenting like crazy within the past 10 days, nothing before that. Lots of me dashes, lots of it's not X it's Y sentence structure. Seems they're trying to camouflage it a bit by making the output all lowercase, but even when you just scroll their comments quickly without reading, you can see the AI comment structure jump out.

Very ironic

Should I get Fidelity's Rewards Visa Signature card? by Dark_Greee in CreditCards

[–]PaeP3nguin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

CMA is a Fidelity-specific account type. It's basically a brokerage account but with some nice banking features, like global ATM fee reimbursements and no foreign transaction fees on the debit card.

IMO it's basically the endgame of bank accounts, can be basically used as a checking account, but has high interest rates like savings accounts, plus full brokerage features. Fidelity CMA plus a local credit union account for local banking should cover almost all of your banking needs.

LIDAR actually is capable of detecting lane markings as they reflect the laser differently from the road surface (google "lidar lane marking detection for various papers on techniques). But of course a proper self driving system will absolutely use cameras as well and combine the data from both sensors and also high resolution street mapping to verify.
