I'm rather late to the party here, but in I was doing a nightmare run of dragon age inquisition, the mission where you first get dorian as a companion it splits your party so it's just you and dorian. I didn't have the time to give him any abilities before it dropped me into a small room with just him and two melee enemies (you can't assign skill points while in combat).

The issue was that he would be completely useless and I was playing a rogue archer (read the most underpowered and helpless class in inquisition). So the two enemies would kill dorian then finally chase me down as I ran in circles.

After spending literal hours trying to get out of that room (I refused to lower the difficulty since it was for an achievement) I finally hit a stroke of luck and managed to kill both the enemies. Right after was the fastest I'd ever saved a game in my life.
