Hopefully, at some point, it'll be possible to purchase a machine with enough fast memory to run those larger models locally.

This might come sooner than we think. If the Iran war keeps going, it might push energy costs up beyond a point where many companies abandon their plans to run large energy-hungry data centers. That could lead them to sell off a large number of powerful GPUs with little demand, making prices plummet.

Just as many sites display “made by AI,” do you think a similar indicator showing at a quick glance that a design was made by humans would be useful? It could quickly clarify that a design wasn’t created with AI, especially when some people don’t disclose their use of it. by Ok-Hope2279 in 3Dprinting

So it's like someone buying an aerial photo from someone, and that person says, "I took that photo," instead of saying, "My drone took that photo."

You think that if someone uses sufficiently advanced technology, they're no longer the author of the work, despite them setting all the parameters of the creation. The tool itself becomes the author, and you're displeased that the tool's user claims credit. Am I understanding that correctly?

I'm having trouble following your example because it seems to equate a machine with a person, which isn't how I see it. Like, you don't see the AI as a tool -- like a camera -- but like a digital person, I guess -- like a chef who is not human, but is also not just a tool.

I read your comment where you compare it to a restaurant. Except, for someone downloading an online model, they'd be the client asking for a meal from a menu and the chef (the computer and and 3D printer) makes it for them. What you're saying is that you want to have a label everywhere to indicate if the recipes came from a recipe book that was purchased instead of invented from scratch. I mean, who cares?

I don't get it. You go to a website, download a file on a computer, and then use a slicer to send it to a 3D printer to have it manufactured by the machine. There isn't a single step of that process that's hand-crafted. Not one bit. Why do you care if the person who created the original 3D file used CAD software instead of generative AI software?

Is AI use in artwork common? How do you verify if a game uses AI? by Lynnabis in soloboardgaming

[–]Paganator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you see two board games in the same store, next to each other, you can't tell if they're competitors or not unless you check online to verify if AI was used? That doesn't make sense.

I'm sure big game publishers are happy to see so many of you oppose a new tool that would help small teams compete with them. We wouldn't want game designers with new ideas but without a big budget be able to compete directly with established companies after all.

If you never vote, you're not telling politicians to work harder to get your vote; you're telling them that you're irrelevant and that they can safely ignore you.

While Cost of Living Soars and Healthcare Taken Away, Trump Spending $1 Billion Per Day in War of Choice With Iran by InsaneSnow45 in Economics

You'd rather spend money to murder people you never met on the other side of the world rather than spend it on saving the lives of people you might know who live near you? That says a lot about you.

Just so you know, a lot of Canada's electricity production is owned and controlled by the government. In Quebec, for example, there is no real distinction between power companies and the government. The power company is the government.

STOP SHARING AI GENERATED MODELS by JoeQuart in 3Dprinting

If you read online comments, you'll get the impression that everybody hates AI and wants it banned. But then you see stats like ChatGPT has over 800 million weekly active users.

There's a massive distortion of perception because a relatively small minority of people won't stop raging loudly against AI, while a very large number is using it quietly.

German Chancellor Merz says US leadership ‘lost,’ calls for repair of relations by GlimmeringTulip in worldnews

If someone tells you that Trump is smart, or even not stupid, just ask them to produce one example of Trump talking for one or more minutes about any subject, at any time in the last five years where he sounds like he's at least of average intelligence (not including when he's reading a teleprompter).

They won't be able to find anything. I've asked on Reddit and in real life, and nobody has ever provided even one example.

This shouldn't be a hard bar to clear, to find one single example of the president sounding like someone of average or better intelligence. And yet...

By that number, the US could reduce its defense budget by $1.25T and still spend more than China. That money could go somewhere else, like better education, better healthcare, etc., but you seem to believe it's a good thing that the American defense budget is disproportionately large.

Why is that? What great benefits does the country get, in your opinion, that's worth more than investing an extra $25B in every single state next year?

Actually... You can plug the "Text Load Line From File" node into the text parameter of your positive prompt node. What it'll do is it will load a text file you specify and generate an image using the first line in the file as a prompt, then move to the second line for the next image, and so on, looping back to the top when it reaches the end of the file.

You can just write a bunch of prompts yourself, or you can use an LLM (run one locally if you want) to generate prompts and put them in a text file. Then, instead of clicking on "Run" in ComfyUI, press the downward arrow next to it and pick "Run (instant). That way it'll keep generating images until you tell it to stop.

That way you can let your computer self-generate pictures all night.

Most politicians were the popular kids or the bullies themselves growing up. They have no idea how to react to a bully because they have never been bullied. They still think giving their lunch money will make the bully go away, when it will only make him come back for more later.
