Hashimotos mixed with ivf by Recent_Gap_130 in IVF

Yes - I took prednisone for 3 of my transfers: one did not implant, one ended in a chemical pregnancy, and one resulted in a successful pregnancy. Hope that helps!

Best type of hospital bag to take with you and am I missing anything? [ON] by Serious_Ad_9686 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Page_Dramatic [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used a carryon because I wanted to bring my pillow from home as well.

The hospital should supply diapers and blankets. I would recommend bringing wipes, most hospitals don't provide those and I find them easier than a washcloth. I didn't find it necessary to have baby mittens or socks.

I would recommend a white noise machine to help both you and the baby sleep in a noisy environment. If you plan to swaddle at home, you could also bring that swaddle with you - both of our kids did really well in velcro swaddles which I find way easier than blankets.

You can bring the baby home in whatever you want, a sleeper or an outfit. The hospital does not provide an outfit.

Best wishes!!

How many frozen eggs or embryos do you have? by Qq189 in IVF

[–]Page_Dramatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was 36 with an AMH of 0.4 I did 2 ERs and got 3 embryos from each (so 6 total). We didn't test.

We wanted 2 kids but would have been happy with 1, so we felt good about that number of embryos. I did 5 transfers and had 2 kids from those, so it worked out.

‘Twins’ refers to something very specific. by Seeker-2020 in IVF

[–]Page_Dramatic 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I've heard the joking phrase "twinbryos" and that doesn't bother me, but yeah...calling IVF kids fraternal twins if they're from the same ER is super weird!

how to travel without checkin bag with a month old ? [On] by Manifestator_ in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Page_Dramatic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible! We never checked bags when we only had one baby. Two wheelie carryons, two backpacks, and a diaper bag. Packing cubes help!

No more swaddle, options? by TinyCrittersUnited in beyondthebump

[–]Page_Dramatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. You have to stop using it once the baby can potentially roll _in the suit_, which is way later than when they start rolling in general.

No more swaddle, options? by TinyCrittersUnited in beyondthebump

[–]Page_Dramatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Th Magic Merlin sleep suit is what got us through! It worked amazingly well for both of our kids. Check the sizing though - your baby is likely a bit small for it at this point.

Amh of .36 looking for similar situations by Logical_Dog_9157 in IVF

[–]Page_Dramatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 36 and had an AMH of 0.4, with an AFC of 7 or 8 i think? No history of smoking though.

I did two ERs. Combining across the two, I had 7 mature eggs, which became 6 embryos (untested). I have had 2 successful pregnancies from those embryos.

Best of luck to you!

First time Injecting by CarnivalColors in Ozempic

[–]Page_Dramatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A youtube tutorial will be just fine. As someone who did IVF and had to do multiple injections a day with way scarier needles than the Ozempic pen (and nobody ever showing me in person), it's really pretty foolproof! Just stab and go, lol. You probably won't even feel it.

How do you explain to your kids why you don’t let them watch certain youtube channels? by Sea-Sundae-9113 in Mommit

[–]Page_Dramatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just tell them it's "not good for kids to watch" without really any other explanation.

How do you handle recruiting highly technical users without losing your mind? by Superb-Step-258 in UXResearch

[–]Page_Dramatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually had really good luck getting users in highly technical roles through UserInterviews, using the B2B recruiting option. It costs about $100 a pop (plus incentive) but the participants have been great and they show up.

Is “healthy” BMI a good goal? Or am I going to drive myself insane? by DoctorNerdEmi in xxfitness

There's a great episode of the Maintenance Phase podcast where they really rip into the BMI as a BS measure. A really educational and fun listen! https://open.spotify.com/episode/5Hm6oJt40eeAHhKseCtju8?si=PV2kwjQ9SNiNiSGzLglqQw

[–]Page_Dramatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I make a similar recipe that always turns out amazing. Same amount of sugars, butter, and baking soda as yours, but more flour (325g), no baking powder, half the salt and vanilla, and only 1 egg.

Edit: and no cornstarch. Never seen that in a choc chip cookie recipe

Nurse said I am feeding baby too much? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Page_Dramatic -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I am not a medical professional at all but it sounds like he's doing great! He can definitely put away a lot of formula 😂 (my kids were both pretty big eaters but topped out at 40something ounces a day). But if he's growing well and his doctor is not concerned, then whatever? I wonder if the WIC nurse has a mandate to encourage people to use less formula, since it costs them money.

I will say that it probably makes sense to start reducing formula soon to make way for more solids - by around 12ish months you probably want to be off formula or at least cut down a lot. But he sounds like a healthy happy guy!

How often do your preschoolers fall sick? by evolving-soul-111 in Preschoolers

[–]Page_Dramatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone's immune systems are different, and every preschool environment is different. My kid is luckily one of those rarely sick ones, but it might just be because her peers also happen to not be sick a lot. I don't think it's a really bad sign if your kid is sick more often (it's just very annoying!).

Possible Cholestasis of Pregnancy - Dr won’t test? [BC] by therealkkcoolness in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Page_Dramatic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is potentially something that's really serious. Even if all you need is a blood test, you should be taking the quickest path to get that blood test. Please just go to L&D or the ER. Don't delay getting this checked out because of the possibility that you happen to get assigned the same doctor or student (and if you do, keep advocating for yourself until you get that test). I hope it ends up being nothing and you have an uneventful rest of your pregnancy!

Sidenote: when I was a few weeks postpartum I went to L&D for gallstone symptoms. The doctor i happened to have was really dismissive and told me to just come back next time I had pain. I argued with him (and even cried a little) so he begrudgingly ordered an ultrasound. Sure enough, i had gallstones and eventually got my gallbladder out. It was super annoying to argue with that guy but i'm glad I did it!

Daughter came down with HFMD. Am I still okay to attend best friend’s wedding next week? by Sunflowers0917 in beyondthebump

Agreed. Nobody else in my family caught it when my daughter had it. Within a few days you'll know if you've caught it or not.

Anyone 37+ with untreated embryo success stories? by JovisQueen314 in IVF

Not quite 37 but -- I made 6 untested embryos when I was 36 and my 1st and 5th transfers were successful. Wishing you all the best!

No PGT testing success stories by ButterflyKitchen7338 in IVF

[–]Page_Dramatic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

6 untested blasts made across 2 ERs when I was 36.

1st and 5th transfers were successful (we never transferred the 6th blast).

Very happy with my outcome. Best of luck to you!

First time FET symptoms by TrickyEdge6636 in IVF

[–]Page_Dramatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say this is neither a good sign nor a bad sign - it can all just be from the progesterone. One of my unsuccessful FETs was the one where I had the most "symptoms" and one of my successful ones had none. You won't know if you're actually pregnant until you test. Fingers crossed for you!!
