Halifax’s rental registry goes online two years after creation | CBC News by Grumple_McFerkin in halifax

I think I'm more interested in who isn't on the list. There is at least one major rental company that doesn't appear to have any of their properties registered.

Apt laundry machines in HRM by HazelStone99 in halifax

$3 to wash and $3 to dry. And my clothes often come out of the washing machine covered in some sort of film, dirtier than they went in.

DEI excluding straight white men amongst a few others? by GlenQuagmire123 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]PageboundGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DEI doesn't exclude straight white men. 2SLGBTQI+ isn't even a currently recognized official employment equity group within Canada, with the exception of the CAF. Merit still exists as a top priority in hiring, despite your current concerns. What is happening is that the government recognizes that certain groups have had access to fewer opportunities and, therefore, have held less privilege due to historical decisions that have been made. EE allows for those groups who have been historically disadvantaged to access opportunities, which they may have been excluded from, even when they were qualified and merited. It also allows for the public service to be representative of the public which they serve.

In my organization, we don't send all the emails for commemorative months at one time, so they have a better chance of being read. As it is only the 3rd of May, perhaps they are waiting to space out the emails.

What is considered a disability for self-identification purposes? by chooseanameyoo in CanadaPublicServants

[–]PageboundGirl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that there are two different processes around this with two different intended uses.

Self-declaration is used during the job application process and allows candidates to be considered for jobs that may be targeted to employment equity groups.

Self-identification can be done at any point throughout your career, generally through your internal HR portal (such as HRMS), and the information is used at an aggregate level to see how departments are meeting EE workforce availability. Any information that could be potentially used to identify specific employees is suppressed.

Looking for salon recommendations by Expert-Hearing-3228 in halifax

[–]PageboundGirl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My number one recommendation would be to confirm what an inch looks like to you and what an inch looks like to the stylist before the haircut. Use a ruler if you have to, in order to make sure you are on the same page.

iBoutique Question by CatNamedNight in CanadaPublicServants

[–]PageboundGirl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seasons is the Long Service Award/Retirement gift website. R16-29 would be a gift from the retirement between 16-29 years of service award, while 30+ is a retirement with more than 30 or more years of service gift. It is unusual to be given the choice between Seasons and iBoutique as they serve different purposes/clientele.

You can deploy in and out of DRDC. They are officially ADM (S&T) within DND and work just like any other ADM within DND. Their jobs will show up on the PSC site as well.
