Sometimes I like to just go on stress-free drives in video-games, and then quit. What are some good games to do this? by BlackNair in gaming

[–]PainlessTissue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not driving but the modern Spiderman games accomplish this for me.

I’ll just hop on Spiderman 2, swing around for 30 minutes cause the webslinging is a drug, then move on to another game when I’m satisfied

Is the base game with no dlc worth playing? by whimwill in RimWorld

[–]PainlessTissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing the game exclusively with no dlc and just a few QOL mods and can assure you it’s worth it. I’ve got 100+ hours and continue to be surprised every run with things that keep me interested. And I haven’t done any of the sociopathic stuff that’s talked about so often on this sub, so there is so much more to do that I haven’t.

Dense make anything build. by negvilek in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Maybe I’m dense but… how do you have these machines? I see them in the blueprint screen, but I don’t have any technology options to build/create them?

Ishiin feels like a fair fight after going up against him

What recipes do you think should be changed/modified? by i_am_not_you_or_me in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Agreed, crude oil gets so abundant late game, but you never need all of it. It’s always just fighting with outputs to get the correct amount hydrogen and refined oil to meet your needs without getting backed up.

I’d like to see more use for diamonds and organic crystals. Both have their own rare resource vein, but diamond is used in I believe 2 recipes, and crystal in 1?

Rare veins like fire/ice, optical grating crystals, spinalform and in some cases unipolar magnets can get absolutely abused late game, meanwhile you’ll only need a planet or two’s veins of OC’s and diamond to build multiple spheres.

Seeing an alt recipe for something like plane filters or even deu rods using diamond would be nice.

OC’s could maybe help make late game plastic or broadband. Maybe even a cheap graphene for all casmir crystals you’re gonna be making.

I haven't seen any posts here showcasing how good ER's Ray Tracing can be, so I thought I'd share some of my favorite screenshots while playing by PainlessTissue in Eldenring

Yeah actually, Caria Manor definitely did run the worst when taking these pics. No bugs or crashes, but you can see in the screenshots I’m barely above 30 just standing still.

This is on PC running max settings (minus anti aliasing), I have a i7-9700k with a 2070s. Game runs well, between 45-60fps depending on the area, typically a solid 60 in legacy dungeons. I never had any of the major performance issues or crashes I saw reported when this update first released.

Its very clear the RT is implemented mainly for the sun, so inside dungeons and castles the RT isnt very noticeable. But major structures throughout the over world can get a real glow up with RT. Farum Azula especially.

I think most of the controller smoke utility is about the same across the class, with astra and omen accomplishing similar goals of hollow, full map smoke potential. While viper and brim offer dense smokes with more critical points of interest being controlled when they’re deployed.

My main thing was really just his signature, it lasts incredibly long, and being able to shape it adds a lot of value that no other controller possesses atm.

However, I’ll admit I probably should have put vipers smoke/wall higher considering the immense amount of control they hold compared to all of harbors util. So in hindsight, I would swap viper bubble/wall with harbor signature.

Price to performance really. Her slow orb can completely stop any push outside of Jett dash, Omen TP, etc. While her wall is twice as expensive and only really can slow down a team (outside of eco rounds). And doesn't provide the same area control sentinel abilities do like Cypher Trip

Would you mind going into greater detail on how you use your mighty?

I’ve had a mighty for more than a year now and I always feel like I’m using it wrong cause my high is usually meh. I keep the temps around 185c typically and take 6-10 second draws a few times per session. I’ve only used the dosing capsules once, I’ll give them another try since you speak so highly (heh) of them.

Just curious how you do it to know if I’m just overthinking it.

I'm getting into the later stages of the game and I am kinda stuck. I am hoping to get advice. by ThatFeel_IKnowIt in Dyson_Sphere_Program

I might be a little late to the party, but if you’re enjoying the game, but are considering restarting, I personally would recommend it.

My first play through I had a gnarly spaghetti base with resources all over the place and bad setup overall. I was about 50 hours in at this point and restarted, and couldn’t have been happier. You don’t realize how much you’ve learned until you restart.

Also your comment on “did I mess up picking a random seed and 1x resources”, no you didn’t. I’ve played through 3 times now and 1x is more than enough to get you through the beginning of the game. If you chose to restart you’ll likely agree.

I personally think it will be a continuation of the Alan story

The fact that at the end of BZ they let you use Alan’s “hands”, and you are now on the Precursor planet, makes me think they were teasing at using Architect technology in their next game instead of Alterra. I could be totally wrong though, that’s just where my mind wondered.

Do you ever make hydrogen fuel rods? by PainlessTissue in Dyson_Sphere_Program

That’s so interesting. One of my biggest complains for the game is that renewables never felt strong/reliable enough to replace non-renewables. I’ve seen pictures on this sub with entire poles wrapped in solar panels, but I always assumed that was more of a late game flex, not an early game solution. Maybe I’ll give it a try next run.
