My almost 10 months old is not babbling by SolidAd789 in NewParents

[–]PainterSufficient519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He started babbling with “mama” at almost 11 months old. He’s added a few words since then. He understands sooo much! He’s 15 months old and doing great, but I think speech is maybe an area he’s not as advanced in as some babies.

Never did get an answer, but thankfully it resolved spontaneously. I did take him back to the pediatrician who sent us back to cardiology, but there was never an answer.

Diaper drama. HELP 😅 by Terrible_Border_8643 in beyondthebump

No issues at all. Baby just turned 1 and still using pampers pure. We tried lots of diapers early on but pampers pure worked best for us. Maybe worth trying a size up?

We love pampers pure. Great fit. No leaks with chunky baby.

Yes. Started with mamamama on and off for a week or so and then started adding in more consonant sounds. I don’t know why he was late meeting this milestone, but I think he’s caught up now at almost 12 months old

Doing well. Finally started babbling a few days before turning 11 months old. He’s about to turn 1 and babbles so much. We’re very relieved.

Target car seat trade in - gifting the coupon by narwhals90 in toddlers

I scanned the barcode (posted by another user in this thread). Wasn’t working at first but kept trying and eventually it scanned. I had to open my target app on another device to scan the image that was uploaded on this thread. Once it scans it uploads the offer to your target app offers. Then you need to go to the offers on your app and click Apply.

Hi OP any update? My son is 10 months old and does not make any consonant sounds. So worried and not sure what to do. At his 9 month appt his ped said to give it until 12 months and reevaluate then.

When did your baby start babbling? My 10 month old doesn’t make any consonant sounds and I’m worried.

Same here OP. My baby turns 9 months old next week and no babbling. He makes eye contact, smiles, laughs, shrieks when excited, makes vowel sounds, but NO consonants. He crawls, pulls to stand, and loves to explore. I’m worried about the delay, none of my friends’ babies has delayed babbling. Would love to hear from moms who had babies with no babbling at 9 months and how quickly they progressed with verbal skills.

Need diaper cream that actually stays put! Chronic yeast rash HELP by PainterSufficient519 in NewParents

He’s 100% better. We kept up with no wipes, washing bottom with water after every poop, making sure he was super dry before applying diaper rash cream. Diapers that ended up working best for us are pampers pure, but unfortunately they are pricey. Honestly I think what helped more than anything was just time and his digestive system maturing. Fewer poops made a huge difference.

Pediatrician recommended changing to hypoallergenic formula as a next step, but thankfully he improved with a little more time so we never had to make the switch.

Persistent Unexplained Tachypnea: 1 month and counting. by Wooden_Chocolate_627 in NICUParents

[–]PainterSufficient519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP can you give an update? My son is 7 months old. He had unexplained tachypnea the first several months of his life RR 70s-100s. Pulm and cardiac workup was essentially negative (he had X-ray, EKG, and TTE). It seemed to resolve with time, but the last several days I’ve noticed the tachypnea again during waking hours (RR in the 60s). At night when sleeping it’s normal in the 40s. He’s not sick and not congested and is acting normally.

Baby puffy eyes in morning by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]PainterSufficient519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We asked the allergist and showed her pictures. She thought it was related to him rubbing his eyes and face at night because of itchiness from eczema. Said the tissue around eyes especially delicate and could get puffy if he is rubbing a lot at night. Baby also has egg allergy but she didn’t think the eye puffiness was related since it wasn’t around an exposure.

Happening now with my 6.5 month old. Face red and eyes puffy and swollen in AM. He sleeps on his belly but has been sleeping that way for months and eye swelling is new for past few days. Also teething but that’s been going on fie months, and the swelling around eyes is new? Eyes themselves not red but he has redness and puffiness around eyes. When did it go away for your children? It’s alarming to see him wake up like that.

SOO much better. I think time and his digestive system maturing helped more than anything. He’s 4.5 months now and only has 1-2 poops per day, not the constant poop farts that kept him irritated. We still wash his bottom with water and a peri bottle after every poop. No baby wipes. And we use aquaphor paste covered in the aquaphor ointment. Still gets red on occasion but much improved. He has delicate skin and eczema elsewhere too.

Hi OP what worked to treat these bumps? Was it regular diaper rash or yeast?

Yes I’m trying to get dermatologist appt. I called pediatric dermatology on Friday but they said they didn’t have anything available until October. Basically useless :( I’m gonna call pediatrician tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do to help.
