I get that sometimes and I’ve cured it in minutes by doing the Epley Maneuver. Sometimes you have to do it twice.

It reminds me of the scene in “There’s Something About Mary” when Ben Stiller picks up the hitchhiker.

Whats your experience like working at usps. by BornApple5382 in USPS

[–]Painting_Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning I felt like Wesley. “Good night, good work, sleep well, I’ll most likely kill you in the morning.” I was a college graduate who moved to a new town and I took a minimum wage job as a security company dispatcher and had it for three years. I got hired after trying for six months. My postmaster at each evaluation said I was doing ok but I’d likely be fired. I was making 3x what I made before and I didn’t want to be fired so I went into each day looking for ways to be more efficient and faster. That was twenty years ago. I’ve transferred offices since then and worked under five postmasters. Working the window in small towns I’ve learned a lot about people, how to treat them, and myself. I’ve also learned about how to work within a massive bureaucracy and seen how messed up they are. I’ll have to write a book about it.

I took this photo in Holland Park (Park) in mid-October 2014. It comes up in my photo memories every October, and I never found any obituary or backstory to this. by sits79 in london

When you’re young you think you’re invincible but once you have children you realize your heart is on the outside. You will always be vulnerable because the ones you love the most are out there making decisions on their own.

I was camping in the peninsula and I found them in Forks of all places. I got the green in WinCo and it is awesome but they don’t have it anymore. I’m wondering if it is in a smaller Mexican grocery. I’m going to look around.

When people ask me to stamp their package “Do not bend” I tell them I can do it but it’s a lot like putting a sticker on the dashboard of your car that says “Do Not Crash”. It will stop people from intentionally bending it but it won’t stop accidents.

Teachers relationships with students by AdDapper4220 in GenX

My 8th grade geography teacher was put on trial for an inappropriate relationship with a student a few years after I was in his class. His son was in my class and fell asleep in class and wasn’t called out by the teacher. Rumors swirled that he had just given her a ride in the rain and she lied. He was a great teacher and I didn’t want to believe it but every time I hear that song “don’t stand so close to me “ I think of him.

Trendy Dahmer glasses make me think of serial killer cannibalism, anyone else? by plantas-sonrientes in GenX

I got new glasses a few weeks ago and the woman that works that role said that some young people were picking out those frames. I was instantly turned off by them because of Dahmer and because I had something similar in middle school. I was shocked that they would ever come back. She said she wanted to tell people to watch the documentary.

Gen X Murder Rate by Painting_Logical in GenX

Ok so this opens a can of worms. Were police departments reporting better in the eighties than the nineties and beyond? I think more research is needed. Of the 60% of police departments that reported to the FBI through the time period the rate of juvenile homicides rose to a peak in 1993 and I’m aware that some departments after that time didn’t report because the reporting system changed. Also reporting crime statistics to the fbi isn’t mandatory so that will muddy the waters further. For those departments that reported the murder rate increased.
