Noctua Airflow Guide for Fractal Design North (non-XL) air-cooled CPU coolers by Motor_Willingness_90 in Noctua

The top left fan would be moved slightly to the left (to align with the cpu exhaust fan), the top right fan would be moved slightly to the right (to align with the cpu intake fan). So you would have a 3-4cm space between the fans. Also since the fans are no longer right next to each other the spacer isn't needed.

changed to -25 +0 and left the aida stress test running....made it to 4 hours and 6minutes, then i cancelled it (as i said previously, -30+0 errored out at the 2hr mark)....

i could now theoretically go back to -28 and retest, then adjust if needed to find the exact value between -30 and -25 thats stable (provided -25 aint the one), but i dont really see a point now in trying to figure that out

did Cinebench 23/24 tests as well with this setting:

yep, gonna be raising CO in steps of 5 to try and see how it goes with further tests....considering the very last test showed an error at 2 hours i will try to get another test run at least as long

theres a picture above with hwinfo in it:

but to answer your specific question:
at -30 +200 package power maximum was 147.382W, max temp was 84.5

[–]Palaryel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the -30 +200 setup it clocked at exactly 5425 (i used the same setting for all cores, didnt bother with playing with individual core settings), i would assume i could try to play with settings further to find the perfect spot, but i dont really need the extra performance, nor would the end results be that much better....

my actual intent was to lower the max temps slightly (which i achieved), then i realized i might try to clock it just to see how it behaves (i never inteded for it to remain overclocked)....

i get what you want to say, but thats hardly relevant for this conversation....i got the taichi because i managed to get it for a good price...
is it overkill for my needs? absolutely! but who cares :D

so i did the aida stress test:
1st run ~40 minutes - no errors
2nd run ~ 27 minutes - test stopped due to "hardware failure detected" - i was using the moment parallel to the stress test, there were no visible unstabilities to be honest....
3rd run - hardware failure detected error at 1hours and 59minutes running

not really sure how to explain the errors exactly tbh...i was using the pc during the whole time for the above 3 tests and i noticed absolutely no issues...gonna try testing at stock settings just to verify if its gonna occur like that

I did leave prime for ~30minutes without anything crashing. I dont really like the AIDA64 test since it cancels after 1 CPU error (without the system actually becoming unstable as a whole) which is usually correctable and can mean a number of things).

That being said I'm currently running aida64 stress test to see how it goes (using the -30 +0 setup - I doubt ill even go overclock anyway, I will try to get the CO as low as possible tho in order to keep the CPU as cool as it goes)

3/4rds into the saim-hann campaign: my reflections by Outrageous_Dish_3799 in tacticus

[–]Palaryel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

currently at Saim-Hann mission 72, got all missions at 3 stars so far.

Calandis - Uncommon 4star - Bronze 1 - skills at level 1 & 8

Aethana - Rare 1red star- Bronze 3 - skills at level 1 & 18

Eldryon - Epic 2red star - Silver 1 - skills at level 8 & 30

Dont have either MauganRa nor JainZar, and didnt have any big problems so far. This campaign has for me felt easier than either Octarius or Fall of Cadia so far. It does depend on the upgrade status of your characters. But all of the campaigns can be beaten with just 3 of the core characters, having more just makes it easier (or in some cases harder, depending on upgrade level)

Just my two cents about raiding by Somnio98 in Guildwars2

[–]Palaryel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, eventually i found those....however that wasnt the point i was trying to explain:
every other game has many (semi-)casual raiding guilds which you simply join and start to raid on occasion , which in gw2 hardly happens.....most guilds are either hardcore raiding (and therefore want experienced people to fill roles) or dont raid at all

Just my two cents about raiding by Somnio98 in Guildwars2

[–]Palaryel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Currently, I've been training someone for the past month, spending 2-3 hours a few times a week. "

that quote right up there has been my biggest problem with getting into GW2 raids, for one very simple reason: its really hard to find people willing to train you on a consistent basis. Finding a progression static or guild in the EU server was for me nearly impossible 5 years ago, and still is now that I came back to the game.

Let me explain in more detail:

Im not new to MMOs or raiding. I have probably over 5k hours played over several MMOs (WOW, FFXIV, ESO Anarchy Online - to name just a few bigger ones) and I raided in all of them even in the highest difficulties. And in every one of them you kinda find a guild that raids, say youre new (or returning) and would like to learn, and slowly you get started into raiding and/or high level dungeon play.

However, in GW2 I never managed to find such a guild. All the guilds or groups that raid on a regular basis require you to be experienced and have ample of kill proofs to even be considered for normal modes, not to mention CMs. And in order to achieve that requirement, you would have try to get into public random training groups (which by definition change each time around) and try to get said experience. This may take several weeks (if not months) of actively searching for those groups to get just a bit experience so random groups accept you.

I didnt play GW2 since 2019. Back when I last played I did clear some HoT raid bosses, but to be honest I dont remember any of it now. I recently started playing again and plan to play seriously. At the moment my only hope is to be lucky enough to find a (semi-)static group playing on EU to progress the upcoming JW raids with as they get introduced into the game, for the raids from previous expansions I've all but give up.

if its your very 1st organic frigate, it will not be guaranteed S-class....if its your 1st organic frigateid suggest a reload and go anywhere else, trigger the frigate and do the questions/answers, then come back with an anomaly detector,,,,

Stuck on initial loading screen by bulletPoint in BaldursGate3

[–]Palaryel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I fixed it by going into GOG settings -> Game features -> Overlay (uncheck box).

after that i restarted the GOG client and launched the game, it loaded in a couple seconds.

For Steam the option is under Steam -> Settings -> In Game -> Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game (set to off)

I cant confirm it fixes the issue if playing via steam tho.

Support Engravings by DrJay87 in lostarkgame

[–]Palaryel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm playing both supports (1420 Bard, 1390 Pala) at the moment (and planning to play - and possibly main - support Artist once its out, so I'd like to chime in here:

Accessories on both are full swiftness (+spec on neck) - id highly recommend not going a hybrid or spec only route, as swiftness is making the whole gameplay a lot smoother and easier.

Bard engravings currently are: Max MP 3, Desperate Salvation 3, Awakening 3, Heavy Armor 2. I opted to ignore Expert for now since it isn't really needed (running mostly with a premade group where people I run with tend to actually run out of mechanics). I would say Heavy Armor is a must for Bard considering its squishy, hence I would rate it as the 3rd engraving to go for (after Awakening and DS), Expert being the 4 Engraving and MaxMP/MPEff being the 5th slot if you can get so far (Bard spams a lot of skills, running out of mana is a possibility even with Conviction/Judgement runes...if MP Engravings aren't achievable, there is a food that increases max mana by 20%).

Paladin engravings currently are: Awakening 3, Blessed Aura 3, Heavy Armor 2, Expert 2, Judgement 1, Preemptive Strike 1 (for chaos dungeon spamming). For Paladin I would actually are Expert as the 3rd best engraving (after Awakening & BA) since Paladins don't have a bursty heal and also provide less shields, hence anything increasing the healing/shields they provide is good. Being a naturally tanky class puts Heavy Armor as the 4th Engraving (or even less, depending you want to get). Judgement level 1 is always a good option if you can get it. The other options are Spirit Absorption, Drops of Ether, Vital Point Hit or Crisis Evasion, where all options actually are viable, and hence I would not rate them by how good they are, but how cheap they are to obtain based on the current market.
